Have you hugged your AD today?

I stopped by a local AD recently and heard terrible stories about salespeople getting yelled at on a daily basis by customers (or prospective customers) who are outraged that they haven’t gotten their requested watch yet despite stopping in, being a long-time customer, etc.

The quote was “we are afraid to answer the phone at this point.”

Now that is some pain in one’s daily job, a true horror show, and we must ask: have you hugged your AD today?

PS: I need to post an Incoming thread..

Really? We are the paying customers that they are getting bundle deals out of to buy SS models. Watches that a few years ago were walk in purchases. They should be hugging us and bowing down to us as we waltz into the premisis. Crazy times we're in when threads like these are created.

Any customer that needs to be bowed down to can waltz right back out of the premises as fast as they waltzed in.

'Crazy times' that the stereotype of 'retail staff being peasants only fit to serve the omnipotent customer' are being eroded? Good times, and about time.

I appreciate my AD and have a good relationship with them. They are providing a service that I promptly pay for. I spread the word about how good they are and I make referrals. In turn they take care of me and my many questions and requests.

I think if you re-read the OP’s post instead of that noob’s rant you’ll see it was a point about how customer have become abusive towards ADs.

As a new member you should try to understand the thread before jumping to conclusions.

The OP didn’t suggest we bow down to anyone. He was explaining a convo with his AD that illustrated how potential buyers have become more coarse in their treatment of his staff.

I should have started by indicating that I agree with the OP’s sentiment

If it gets you a watch, why the devil not?

I was more upset that no one wants to buy my AirKing now the 114060 I wanted had popped up....

September 2017 I bought 2 watches from a local small AD. Before the craziness, a sub date for me and a DJ41 blue dial, smooth bezel oyster for my wife. Basically got 19% off out the door cash. Put my name on the list for a Pepsi October 2018. Stop by every 6 months only to be welcomed with a big hug and kiss, asking how my wife is by her first name and me by my first name. Unbelievable memory that lady has. Still on the list only to be told, all good things come to those who wait. I truly believe my phone will ring one day.
