Icon12 IWC.. what do you think??

Hi guys, proud owner of an Explorer II here but have been sorely tempted by an IWC Da Vinci SL Chronograph. It has a hybrid mechanical, quartz movement by Jaeger le Coultre. Have to say it is just so good looking. Not quiet the ruggedness of the Explorer but have always thought of IWC as a fair rival to Rolex. What do you think?

IWC have been around a long time and make real good quality watches. If it floats your boat, go for it

I'd love to see it. However, it would be hard for me to lay down my Expy II for anything else.

Its just so cool but so very different form my Explorer. Can't really compare but i do rate IWC and their moverments and think that their look differs so much from the Rolex. A top brand with such a unique movement in the watch

I love IWC, its a great company. Dont have an IWC.....yet. Just started lusting for the 5001 or the aquatimer, we all know how that ends.

Few watches are as tasteful as the IWC. I do, however like my date feature at the 3.

Date function is certainly great.
I'm not a fan of leather strap since I sweat alot during summer.
It's a pretty looking watch and you should try it on and try the Daytona to see which is better on your wrist.

IMO every watch manufacturer has at some time designed some very nice watches and some shockers.
I don't know how much good the response to your question will be to you, having asked it on a Rolex Forum.
The first two watches shown don't do much for me. I have seen nicer, Omega's and JLC's etc.
As for the IWC cousteau chrono, yes, looks ok I suppose (dial is a bit busy) but I would drown trying to work out what it was telling me.

IWC make great watches, no doubt. Unfortunately I have too many 'like to have' on my list before IWC such as, in order, Rolex Milgauss GV, SS Daytona Black Dial, GMTIIc then followed by a few Panerai watches.
In brief, 1st Rolex, 2nd Panerai, 3rd IWC.
Anyone share the same interest with similar order?

IWC are very nice watch, but I'm afraid if I buy one, it might just sit in the corner since I prefer Rolex for my daily use.

The only other (under $10K) watch I'd consider is a JLC. Excellent movements and superior execution of understated style. I must own one one day.

To be honest i have never been a rolex fan until i got my Explorer. Always thought the watch maker to have was an IWC. I would never get rid of the Explorer as its a great watch and looks the part but the Da Vinci range of IWC's are so nice. Just a class above most watches. I also love the hybrid movement which fascinates me. Some classy pics on here guys

IWC make some great series of watches with some great movements. They are a much lower volume producer than Rolex and have a different style. I have to say I like their pilots watches.

I personnaly dont think IWC is a rival to Rolex, Most people I know who have an IWC had watches like Rolex,Omega,Panerai,etc...before!

I just sold my Big Pilot lately, with regrets...but I want to get a BRM!
