Quick Datejust owner's poll: Domed or fluted?

I'm days away from a great deal on an 116234, white dial, stick indexes, fluted WG bezel.
Where there is confidence on decision, doubt can rear it's ugly head. However, I still have a choice.
At issue is whether the fluted bezel will be too flashy. There's still time to decide on the domed bezel.

I think I'm in the minority, but I really like the domed. I think the fluted shows wear more.

Fluted!!!! I'd say the smooth bezel shows scratches more....and IMO the fluted just adds something extra! White Gold!

Interesting!

Because when I get my white gold Day-Date,
I had planned on the President bracelet with the domed bezel.

Same for the platinum, except I'd do the glacier blue dial.

The consensus, so far, is that fluted is not excessively flashy. Yes?

Except the poll says 3-domed, 1-fluted . . .

I had the same decision when I purchased this. The fluted just grabs me more and will show less scratches.

Voted fluted bezel if you have the jubilee bracelet. Dome looks better with the oyster bracelet.

For me it's fluted with Jubilee bracelet. I prefer the TT version.

Fluted without hesitation. The domed actually looks unfinished to me somehow.

I like Domed: what's the purpose of fluted bezels? "Form should follow function."

Does anyone think the domed bezel on the newest models has a wider profile?

IMO. Domed looks nicer on ladies. Fluted for gentlemen.

I believe that bezel is not currently offered. Rolex seems to have ditched
the more subtle flat bezel, for the somewhat more substantial domed bezel.

When did this happen?

I am a fan of the older style smooth bezel in stainless, with a jubilee.

I have not found love with the newer domed style, but am wondering if my new Rolex should be
more subdued than a fluted bezel will allow. Hence this poll and requests for opinions.

I like the domed bezel on the newer more contemporary dials. I like the fluted on the classic ones.

Mine is a "Y" Series 31mm DJ. My bezel looks different from the domed one. Its flatter.

Fluted gleams like crazy in the sun. Never owned a smooth bezel, however.

I went fluted. . .

. . and bought a 116234 as I've loved that style since I was a teenager (and couldn't afford a Rolex). The fluted 18K bezel is gorgeous without being ostentatious. moreover, it actually hides scuffs and abrasions better then a 116200 style.
