New or used: TT Sub Bluesy

Saw a 3 year old used TT Sub Bluesy selling around 8% off MSRP and this is from a grey.

AD is not willing to give discount for a new piece.

Anyone thinking if 8% off for a 3 year old watch is a good buy?

Buy new for 8%. Anyone who tells you different is wrong.

No, not for 8%.
Go new, shouldn’t be too hard to get

Obviously new. The feeling of brand new is different than used one and 8% doesn’t justify it. May be 40% discount will.

This is why I’m looking to get my Bluesy from my AD, probably at retail. I rather have new and add another purchase with my AD than only getting 8% off in the secondary market.

8% not worth it - just consider the 5 years warranty piece of mind! and it would deeper your relationship with your AD if you consider other watches in the future.

Any less than a 10% discount you go new. I personally buy all my new watches from our trusted sellers as I find them miles more professional and they understand my expectations.

IMO you should buy this piece new. There’s nothing like buying a brand spanker and being the first owner. Now, if you could save 20% by being the second or third owner - different story. But for 8% - I’d go new. Good luck

Definitely new at msrp if only 8% more. I have seen these often at ADs this year so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. I suppose that may change if they update the sub next year as many expect.

Not for 8%. I got mine about 5 years ago for almost 30% off. I know times have changed, but there are still some deals out there.

Secondary market prices for a LNIB bluesy are approaching what you would pay at an AD these days. I would go new unless you found a mint example for 15-20% off MSRP.

I’ve owned both and have to say I like the look of the full gold version better. To each their own I guess.

I did a recent trade of my Explorer and cash for a year old bluesy that was listed by a TSer for $12,325. That was about 8% less than MSRP but, of course, the TSer was out of state so there was another 9% Ca tax saved. The watch as received was perfect and likely had not been worn many days by the original purchaser. Full package as you would expect. My plan had been to buy new, but then I would have had to find an out of state AD to beat the 9%, which is possible, but dealing with a top TSer made the deal easy. So I am totally happy. All of this for losing a year of warranty.

Had I not seen this deal from a TSer I have previously done business with I would have waited to get the watch from one of two out of state ADs I have done business with.

I recently did a similar deal (11% off MSRP and no tax from out of state seller) on a 5 month old TT Daytona white dial. Again I could have hunted and paid retail after a few months but finding a watch in like new condition that was initially sourced from a US AD and at this kind of discount works for me.

Buying used is not worth such a small saving IMO. We will each draw this line in a different place. I got a new Blusey from my AD last November for a discount. Maybe I wouldn't now. Compared to the grey market, an increasing number of very nice TT models are effectively discounted, some generously, at MSRP.

How would the new sub affect the current reference assuming the rumours are true? Would that make the current reference more desirable ?

Totally agree IMPO the "Trusted Sellers" are so much more knowledgeable than 95% of most sales reps at the AD's and as said what our expectations would be.

Too close in price. Might as well go new. No potential issues, brand new with no marks, full warranty.
