AP Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique

I’ve been thinking of adding a non Royal Oak AP to my collection. Been eyeing a few models and interested in the new Millenary. Wondering how the 39.5 mm will sit on the wrist? Does it look unisex or for ladies?

Also it’s a one hander, is the photo below indicates it’s 6:50ish? (Just want to double check)

I think that looks unisex so you are OK as I would not recommend this for most women, esp with the hand for readability, the women I know like quartz and no hassle.

Thanks for the response. Is the pic above shows 650ish? Have very little experience with a one hand watch.

The little after 10 would make sense if the hand is centered, but it is not centered. Thus I’m asking the forum. * No idea, see another pic below. Easier to tell time on my Royal Oaks with the minute hand for sure.

I could only imagine buying that watch and when some one asks "what time is it"? My reply would be "hold on...I have to log into TRF and make a poll".

It's an hour hand display, so it's indicating 10:10 (approx).

Sure the hand is slightly off-center but how do you get from 10:10-ish to 6:50-ish due to that small offset? My vote is still for 10:10-ish.

Edit: Ahh I think I see where you’re coming from: the long hand would be the minute hand and the base of the minute hand is on a very small circle, so the position of the base of the minute hand would indicate the hour. Wow, never seen that before!

BTW I get annoyed at the 15202 due to no seconds hand but removing the minute hand as well is another level!

I would go for the open dial millenary. Such a beautiful watch, and it fits beautifully on a 6.5 to 7 inch wrist.

The hand is for minutes. Position of the base is for hours. The hand obviously moves to indicate the hours; it’s clear when you contrast both images.

Interesting time display - yes looks like the hand base tracks around a small circle at the centre of the dial, then the hand pointer indicates minutes.

So in both cases, the ‘non-obvious’ answer looks to be correct.

Where would AP be without the RO? Seems like they are trying to branch out with new product but it’s not working. Why can’t they get it right? Too style focused?

Genta could have designed the Royal Oak for any company. AP is lucky it was them or they’d be out of business with garbage like this.
