Help please, verifying authenticity of Tudor Big Rose

Hi TRF,

I've recently joined the forum as I'm developing an interest for all things vintage Tudor. I'm an Omega guy. I've been looking to get my hands on a black dial "Rose" and this has come my way.

What is throwing me is the design of the Rose as well as the design of the "Tudor". Shouldn't the font be more italicised?

I believe the more block style "Tudor" font was introduced post-1969 when the Rose logo was removed entirely from design and replaced with the shield which we see in modern examples.

Were there any variances consistent with this model or has this dial been repainted at some stage?

Thanks in advance for your wisdom. I have much to learn on TRF!

I'd suggest it's a redial at best. I've never seen a font like that on a Tudor...

That's the font you want.

That lettering is way wonky.

This is my old 1959 big rose. The rose should be applied and the font should be the heavy serif style.
