Newcomer here, got my 1st!
I wanted to share my story.
I'm disabled but have always dreamed a Rolex probably since I was 10. Well, close to 37 now, I was finally able to realize my dream. I had my sights set on a Sub C Date. Of course we all know what a feat that is to find a SS Sport model currently. At first I did my diligence just getting my name on waitlists to be on a waitlist. Needless to say, I was basically laughed at when calling. Especially when indicating I didn't plan to spend anymore money after my purchase except maybe a bday present here or there for my wife or daughter. However, at a point where I had called all but one last AD in my state, I decided to change my approach. Instead of just hope and blind luck, I figured i'd try telling the sales associate my story. So I called in with no hope left, I had to try though! Surprisingly, when I asked if they had a sub date, the man replied "we don't have any in the showcase". Hmmmmm.... I think I understand what he's saying. But I didn't push it. I just said I understand, I know they're hard to find right now and that many people just want to flip them for profit. That's when I explained my dream, my saving, etc. To which he then replied "I'll see what I can do". I thanked him and we hung up. A week later I called to follow up, this time I spoke with a woman. She explained to me that yes they had one last week but they sold it... My dreams had been crushed, I really thought they'd come through for me. So I said I understand and to call me if they get another. There very next day the first guy I spoke with previously called me. He asked if I was still looking, and that they had sold a no date but he had been able to hold the date model for me and it's mine whenever i can come get it! WHAT???!!!!!??? An hour later it was on my wrist! I started looking in late July. September 20, I had it. I still can't believe it and I am so happy to know I'll have this my whole life, ticking away perfectly as all Rolex do. |

What an enjoyable story; thank you for sharing it!
I, too, had a lifelong dream of owning a Rolex Submariner, which was recently realized at age 59. I think I understand your feelings right now! Enjoy your Submariner! Michael
