First Rolex purchase - community feedback needed
Hi Dear Rolex community,
The time has come for me to splash out and buy the watch of my dreams that I have been saving up for, for a year - The magnificent Rolex Explorer Ref 14270. Opted for the 14270 because of the hollow end links which I find more comfortable that the solid end links. I think I have found a winner (in terms of condition and price), but I would not feel comfortable pulling the trigger until I have heard back from the community. I would appreciate it greatly if you could have a quick look and tell me what you think of these two watches: Rolex Explorer Swiss Only Dial: For a detailed view of the ad and the movement, please refer to: https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/explo...koutId=1701783 The second watch I am considering is the following: T Swiss - T < 25 dial For a more detailed view of the ad and movement please refer to: https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/explorer--id11386150.htm So which of the two do you think is in a better condition. I have a favourite but I will not disclose it so as not to skew your opinion. Looking forward to your response! Regards, /d |

Rolex Watches - buying into a family legacy. Founded by Hans Wilsdorf in 1905, Rolex has grown significantly in both size and prestige over the course of its long and illustrious history.
You cant go wrong with either of these Rolex models. |

I’m not offering an opinion on either watch you posted, nor the sellers offering them. But here’s my 2¢...
To have a fully functional Explorer, I would prefer the one with functioning lume. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I am no expert on those watches, but why not just buy a new one? The price difference is not much and it will be yours from day 1. You won't have to worry about the wearing habits of the previous owner, was it serviced correctly by the right people, are the parts all original, has it been over polished, did the owner insist on winding it every day, was it always on a winder when not in use etc.?
Also, how is a hollow end link more comfortable than a solid end link? How can you feel any difference? I know that the hollow end link feels a bit more rattly, but is that more comfortable? Finally, are you sure a 36mm watch is for you? Do you have small wrists? |

Are the Swiss only dials not just service dials?
