Prefer.
Honest? GS is an external standard!
Higher quality of excellence? PP seal standard is a higher standard than the equivalent GS back in the day. (GS has since been updated)

If the question is did PP change their standards then 'NO'.

I have a 5711 GS and PP seal. I prefer the GS, more authentic, independent and old school charm. But the market votes PP seal. GS 5711 trade below PP because they are older.

I would always prefer an independent entity to test my watch, I therefore prefer GS.

Rumor or Truth? Patek moved their manufacturing facility and can no longer get the "Geneva Seal" due to physical location.

I fully agree with all the GS prefer above, it too bias to rate your on product as highest standards. Just want to know if anybody notice the difference in quality? If you’re an owner of both seals.

PP seal...I think PP did the right thing.

GS was on movement only and did not afford PP the ability to differentiate on the whole watch and folks like Cartier were attempting to draft on standards PP set.

performance and quality should speak for themselves.

much better articulated here...

Thanks for posting the link. Does Rolex have the GS? If not, why not?

@ Locutus49: If I am not mistaken its because Rolex uses the COSC Standard.

Well articulated but still a little ridiculous to go through the process of creating your own seal to stamp on your own watch as a "sign" of quality. Its no more a "sign" of quality than the box it is shipped in. Are they going to have watches fail and then sell them without the seal?

Why not just state that your watches are held to a higher standard than the GS and the name "Patek Philippe" on the dial is all you need to "see" to confirm that. Seems to be more about marketing showmanship than anything else.

Go vintage, especially the 70s and earlier imho. True hand-crafting and they used many bridges, etc. The recent PP ones seem to have a lower standards of build quality imho.
