Favorite Beater Watch

What’s your favorite beater watch when you need a designated hitter that still feels cool?

Here’s mine:

Don’t really call it a beater, but I really enjoy my Tudor Pelagos when camping, beach, hiking, etc

For years I had a 1972 Red 1680 on a nylon strap. It was my summer/beater watch. Fortunately (or unfortunately) the demand for red 1680s kept going up, and up, and up...until my beater watch became the most valuable watch in my collection!
I started worrying about banging it or damaging it since it was now worth 2x my other watches, so I just sold it for a handsome profit.
Now my beater is a 14060

Rolex was and is the original beater watch. For those that do not remember, Rolex was invented as tool watches are where the first “g shock” meaning the do anything, go anywhere, and take anything you can dish out watch. Unfortunately many here have no idea what their Rolex can withstand because they never get more action than closing a desk drawer. So my beater watches are my 16610, 116520, and speedy pro.

True beater watch for me....when I’m going to be doing things that I know might subject a watch to damage...riding my road or mountain bike, working on a car, etc...

I guess it's hard to call a $3,500 watch a true "beater" but for me my Tudor GMT is my go anywhere, do anything watch. Travel watch, work in the yard watch, night out drinking watch. There's nothing this baby can't do.

For going out/drinking: Breitling Colt Oceane Quartz, bought new in 2003, service history: one new battery

For traveling to places where it is for sure not safe to wear a Rolex: SNK805 Seiko 5 Automatic

For anything else: 214270 Explorer 1, Mk 1
