Hello All, New Member, New Sub

Hi everyone, been on here a while now but this is my first post so i thought now was the right time to say hello, i was lucky enough to pick up my new Sub 14060M yesterday,

I have been wanting a new watch for a while and in the past 4 months i have been through a 45mm Planet Ocean (too big and bezel not in line) a standard speedmaster (fault on chronograph) a Doxa 800TI (not my cup of tea in the flesh) and a superocean steelfish (dial too busy and couldn't get used to weight).

After selling the Breitling i have been without a watch now for about 4 weeks as i am a one watch at a time person, after trying on numerous other Omegas, Tags, Breitlings, Balls, and Longines i just couldn't find the one that gave me that feeling (you know the one i am talking about), so i thought what the hell try on the watch i have always liked but been too scared to try on becuase of the price,

Well i tried it on at the weekend and it was love at first site, it is the perfect watch in terms of quality, movement, materials, prestige, retro looks but still looks upto date, all time classic, and a good tool workhorse watch that will look good with a suit,

Size wise not too big or too small i suppose thats why Rolex have never really messed with the watch (don't fix it if it's not broken) this is a watch i don't think i will ever get bored of as in always looking for the next best thing, the only disapointment was i ordered it to my local branch which they sourced from another of there shops and i was expecting a V serial number and it is an M which means its at least 3-4 months old with the serial charts i ve looked at, i dont know if thats good or bad? well thamks for reading if you have got this far and once i learn how to post pictures i will do a more in depth review after living with it for a while.

Cheers Lee

First welcome to TRF a good choice of watch, the non date sub and has changed very little since the early 1990s.Sure a slight movement Cal 3130 update in 2001 and a switch to the Luminova lume dial, and different case stamp letters over the years. And now the movements are COSC tested but its exactly the same movement as the ones that were not and thats about it.Just wear and enjoy your classic Rolex for the next few decades, and beyond in good health.

Hi Lee,

Welcome to TRF

Nice intro, and nice choice in watches too

Congrats on the Sub, I've recently let go of mine, hoping for a GMT II in the near future, I'm like you with the one watch at a time, the only watch that has been a constant is my first Rolex TT DJ, I've had many others and other brands, been an awesome adventure.

Glad you found us here, you'll love it

Enjoy,

Dave.
