GMT TT Rootbeer vs GMT Batman

Guys,

Been sitting on a fence.....which one you recommend? TT Rootbeer is so stunning...but Batman is also a lovely piece with a solid resale value....

Here in Jakarta the price of a BNIB TT rootbeer is USD 18K, while BNIB Batman is USD 15.6K.

Regards,

Regards,

I love them both but I think the BLNR is a better daily water being SS.

I truly love TT pieces (seriously considered a RG TT Yachtmaster recently) but I saw one on the wrist of one of my clients and the gold looked really dull. Obviously, when brand new it is perfectly crisp and shiny. But my clients watch is just a few years old and it looked “beat.”

I hope that is not the fate of the TT rootbeers — the ceramic bezel should age much better than the RG bezel of my clients YM.

I despise the BLNR. Had one at retail. Long gone.

BLNR is an odd one for me. I’ve have multiple opportunities to get at the AD for retail and I’ve always passed. Odd because I like the colors and whatnot, just dont love the watch.

Root Beer every time.

A bit surprised. Usually the Root Beer does well on one to one comparisons on here, Instagram, and in the real world, but it's not doing well on this poll.

What was it about the watch you despised? I don’t own one but have seen a few in person. Even sight unseen, seems like a watch you buy already knowing what you’re getting into, so just curious what caused such a strong and negative reaction.

Love the root beer! I have the LN gmt and can’t justify getting the blnr. The blue and black can look all black at times, but the Pepsi.. Now that’s a different story! The root beer is gorgeous and noone does rose gold better than Rolex!

Rolex nailed it with the Root Beer. The rose gold goes so well with the SS on the oyster bracelet.

I love the CHNR. It is a clever visual combination which looks particularly good in the metal. I didn't like the BLNR on Oyster and I dislike it more on Jubilee. But what I like doesn't matter. Your watch, your money. your life.

If you can't make up your mind, get both. It might take more time and saving but the BLNR will likely be less expensive in a year or two - unless you are buying through ADs. CHNRs can be had through ADs without the danger of becoming so old that you forgot you ordered it!

I was in a similar predicament with the 116610LV versus the 1166!£LB. I know the feeling.

I was forced to wear the color brown as a child and have never recovered. The brown on the bezel kills it for me. It's a beauty, just my childhood emotional trauma prevents me from liking it. That's why I'd go BLNR.

Such a stupid answer. Why don’t you start drinking diesel or start eating dog food?

It’s all what look you are after. I have them both and you won’t be disappointed with either. I adore both but can only have one and that was the new BLNR and I wanted/love the new jubilee bracelet over the pcl on the GMT.
The BLNR is a lot more bright on the wrist. The CHNR is more subdued and warm. The new jubilee bracelet with the blue is very clean, crisp and almost “blingy”. The jubilee sparkles more and is A LOT easier to maintain and the pcl of the CHNR will get hairline scratches just looking at it. Skin tone will be a major factor if the everose works for you. Both of these watches have the new 3285 movement which is to say the very latest and advanced from Rolex.

These pics tell the story best on what each watch offers in their personalities.

i love the full everose rootbeer, but i just can’t love a two-tone anything. maybe it’s a personal failing.

that said. the batman has been my faithful companion through almost five years of travel, surfing, snowboarding, general tomfoolery and weddings and funerals. it’s one of the best watches money can buy, and attracts very little attention. for my money i’d always go BLNR on oyster. but that’s no slag on the new jubilee which is absurdly comfortable.

BLNR for me.

Not a fan of brown on a watch. I even wish they would put a different color bezel on the Platona.

Either way you go, you’ll be happy. They’re both fantastic watches. It’s a tough call on which one I put on in the morning. Love both of them.

The TT Rootbeer is just an incredible design. I almost get the impression that Rolex R&D came upon it accidentally, and said "well this watch looks too good not to push to market"...it's that strong and organic of a design.
