Royal Oak Size Comparison Photos (15450, 15202, 15500)
Hi y'all. I currently have all three models/sizes of the current Royal Oak lineup and I thought it would be helpful to post some comparison photos between them all. This includes the 15450 at 37mm, the 15202 at 39mm, and the 15500 at 41mm.
The 15202 is noticeably thinner than the other two, which both feel roughly the same in height. One interesting thing to note is the width and corresponding taper on the 15502's bracelet. The width and taper of the 15450 is commonly criticized on the forums here, but the 15202's bracelet is actually closer to the 15450 than it is to the 15500. The 15450's taper is actually less than the 15500 since it's going from a 37mm head to the taper at the clasp rather than the 15202's 39mm head to the clasp of the same width. And before folks ask why I own all three, I bought them at different times and will be offloading the 15450 soon. Enjoy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks! I get confused with all of the different versions. Between the 2 you are keeping, which is your favorite?

FINALLY! Thank you so much for posting this - I’m sure others from this forum will echo this sentiment as well.
Would it be possible for you to provide a measurement comparison for the thinnest point/clasp width of the 15202 vs 15450? Thanks!! |

Glad you find it helpful! I don't have any measuring equipment right now but I'll be picking up a digital caliper. I will update this thread when I have it.

Thanks!! While you’re at it.. would it be possible to get dial measurement comparisons, width, and lug to lug between the 15450 and 15202? Lol it’s not everyday that we find somebody with these 3 pieces to compare and there’s a lot of hypothetical measurements flying around! Thanks again! |

Thanks for the photos and as mentioned earlier , a lug to lug distance helps in understanding the size well.

Have always heard the 15202 stiff endlinks make it so that the hug to lug is much more than a normal 39mm watch, wonder how significant this is.

Great shots. Would also be great if you added some case-back shots as well. There are significant differences there as well.

I still think the 41 is the perfect size. Never been crazy about the 15202 because of it's size.

Thread should be saved for future reference! Also really curious about the lug to lug measurements for the 39mm and the 37mm |

This is great. I had the 37mm one but would probably get the 202 in the future, because even though I have a small wrist APs are supposed to look a bit big, right?

Thanks for the comparison, I’m interested in the lug to lug measurement of 15450 as well.

Here are some measurements (in mm) I took between the watches and some submariners. I hope it helps.

Thanks for the photos! The 15202 is just perfect, but that grey 15500 is gorgeous as well -- the best of the 15500 models, IMO.

Thanks for posting this great set of comparison shots. Much needed as the perennial question of "what's the best size?", keeps coming up. Maybe you could add a series of the on-wrist photos and provide your wrist size. It's almost impossible to get an idea of size from photos of the watches alone. Like you, I'll likely offload my 15450 for a slightly larger watch. Look at two photos of the 15450 on my 6.5" wrist from different distances and you'd go from, "great size", to some thinking it too small". Some watch sites actually have a page that's a total joke, showing the size of the watch on a diagram of a person, as if that helps.

Awesome pix/comparison! Thanks Watchguy. How big is your wrist (sorry if I missed it)? Could you post wrist-shots- if you have the chance & still have the watches?
Thanks! |

This is awesome. Thank you for posting! Great to see the side by sides. I would also love caseback / movement photos! (Not sure if the 15450 has open caseback)

Adiron, that still looks nice and classy from that far/small perspective.

Love this thread. I have a 6.7 in wrists and I find the 15550 too big for my tastes. It’s a lot of watch. People keep telling me that the 15540 is too small and that APs are meant to be “big” but I prefer it how I prefer it. Haven’t added one to the collection yet but it’s on my mind. Here are two shots:

I think you can pull off the 15500 just fine. Also recommend trying the 26331 also. Same size but I find the 26331 to be visually smaller. I have a 6.75” wrist and would prefer the 15500/26331 over the 15450. I find the bracelet on the 15450 to be on the narrow/slim side. The Jumbo 39mm is the sweet spot. Keep us posted.

I tend to agree. However, although I'm very used to wearing big watches I find the 15500 wears visually big. My meaning is that to me the dial seems too big - it appears to my eye somewhat bigger than on my 41 ROC, for instance. It must, I assume, be because the ROC has a lot more going on visually with the sub dials etc, whereas the 15500 is very open. The 15500 appears bigger than the ROC.
