Rolex serial number

Hi, I’m new and just purchased a 16610 Submariner Y serial and I love it. I bought it at a reputable dealer and I was wondering... On the receipt and appraisal papers the last digit of the serial number is omitted. Just curious as to why?

When publicly advertised it's common to blur some numbers to avoid scammers to repost pics for illegitimate for sale ads. I cant imagine a reason why their not fully disclosed on your personal paperwork.

That’s odd. On appraisal it should be the full serial number

The official paperwork should have the entire, exact, serial number for positive identification.

Sounds like the first made a typo, and the second copied it rather than checking to ensure it.

If you’re going to insure it, have it appraised yourself and be sure the entire serial number is on it along with good sharp pictures.

That seller owes you a receipt with the full serial number displayed on it.
