Watch out for buyers too

I know this is the watch out section.Sellers have to watch out for buyers in this market now more than ever.I recently sold a MINT 1 owner vintage watch to a buyer for a song.I sent over 30 detailed pictures and spent over 15 minute on the phone with him. He recieved the watch wore it for a few days and called me and told me he wasnt happy and was sending it back.I asked what the problem was and he said he wasnt happy he thought it would be like new and it wasnt.His wife etc. This person had many post on Vintage forums he was no newbie to watches.Has it come to this?

Buyer scams are rarely talked about.

THey are huge and prevalent and soem say even more pronounced than seller scams. And since ebay and paypal ALWAYS side with the buyer, it is even worse.

Agree with you totally here Jeff...LOL. There are many ways to protect yourself, not only as a buyer, but as a seller. I could write a book on it! (Seriously)

I know this subject has been the topic of many posts here in the past - both seller and buyer safety precautions when purchasing and shipping.
