If you’re worried about gold bracelet stretch

here is my report two years later of wearing daily.

Zero stretch, that’s on oyster, not sure how a president would hold up.

Good to know. Take a pic of the watch on your wrist and let us know how loose or tight you wear it.

The only time I've experienced stretch was when I didn't take care of my watch. Like anything in life I suppose. It was only minimal though and steel. It looks like you look after that stunner though.

My skx which I wear at about the same frequency in the rotation

Although that is a jubilee so not sure if it’s more susceptible to stretch

Jubilee is more susceptible to stretch I believe. More contact points for the dirt to get into.

Seiko bracelets are notoriously shitty. As well.

Mine is the exact same after 2 1/2 years of daily wear. Same watch 116618LB.
I wear it tight so the watch stays put and clean it on an almost daily basis with dish soap and water. Those who describe full gold Rolex as soft as frozen chocolate are either misinformed or have never owned/worn solid gold.

Looks fine OP.

BUT...

‘Stretch’ is such a lousy misnomer.

How is it while on the wrist?

Why judge a watch band’s integrity holding it at 90° ?? That’s like judging a warm beer after shaking it. Nobody does it, why ask about it?

I’m wearing a 45 yr old DJ and yes, it’s aged. But the band while on wrist is more than fine.

Maybe I hold it 90 degrees out because gravity will show how much flop there is, that’s how most people I’ve seen do it when advertising their piece

Stretch shouldn’t be an issue anymore since Rolex redesigned the bracelets back around the noughts I believe.

I believe the purpose of the OP post is that solid gold holds up as well as SS or TT. They are fine for daily wear. Heck Jack Nicklaus wore a gold DD for decades.

Yes I thought the gold would wear out quicker, but that’s not the case at all, unless the pins a stainless inside

Wasn’t it the hollow link bracelets that were notorious for the “stretching”?

My modern bracelets, Oyster or Jubilee, are about as tight and crisp feeling as when I got them.

Nice Submariner, by the way, Kostas! (I’m a Constantine, too. Yiasou!)

Correct. This isn’t a problem for newer references.

Oysters stretch the least ,Jubilees and old Presidents the most .
New Presidents with ceramic sleeves should stretch very little .
116660 DSSD for 9 years and the play on the ss oyster is very little .

Lovely YG Blue sub

I checked your profile and it doesn’t seems like it’s your daily piece. You are saying that your two year old babied gold submariner worn sparingly during weekends in rotation with other watches doesn’t equal to years of proper daily use and the “stretch” that comes with that.

With that said... I have a gold sub and it is holding up quite good a few years in (used in rotation), but it’s not factory tight anymore. Not worried but bracelet does wear, even when worn tight.

I don’t know about babied, but it seems it doesn’t stretch any faster than a ss piece would
