told you i was a newbie. Not sure what happened to the post.
here it is again. First off, lots of great info on here. I have been lurking for about a week now. I have a YG DD President that i purchased from a physician I work with. I know it is legit, but have no papers on it. I took it to the AD he purchased it from and had them go over it. I will try to get some pics this weekend, but have no idea of the age, etc. description is as follows, forgive me if I do not know the actual terms. Dial- YG brushed face with baguette diamonds at 6 & 9. round diamonds at , 1,2,4,5,7,8,10 & 11. case has fluted? bezel with what looks like to be brushed cornerposts. Bracelet is the president bracelet, but has hollow links hence a considerable amount of stretch. there are several really worn spots in the bracelet. I very seldom wear it because of fear of the pins in the bracelet breaking. I want to get the bracelet repaired/replaced. but I have heard horror stories of sending a watch to Rolex and them redoing it and then sending the bill for much more than was set out to be. I think the crystal is a replacement, because it does not feel like the crystal my wife has on her TT DJ. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Ok here are a few more pics. sorry about the quality, but it is a point and shoot.
I was able to pull off the bracelet and found the model #1803 by the 12 o'clock lug and the numbers on the 6 o'clock lug is 245xxxx or 246xxxx. the old eyes are weak. I would really like to replace the band and possibly get a new crystal, i think the current one is acrylic. thanks in advance. |

You might consider contacting Bob Ridley at Watchmakers for a quote. Everyone says he's the best and I know he uses all genuine Rolex parts.
The crystal is most likely acrylic as you said. My dad's watch is similar and has an acrylic crystal. He had it polished last year but there was only so much they could do. Some of the scratches were quite deep. Daddy died in November. I've asked for the watch. His estate hasn't been settled yet so I don't know if I'll get it, but if I do, it goes to Mr. Ridley.
