Would you trade a 116520 black Daytona for a ceramic diver 15707ce?
Both full set.
Daytona is from 2014, Chromalight, mint. Diver is I series. Would be adding between 3-4k EUR in cash Thanks |

No. I traded a 116520 for a 15703 Diver a few years ago and regretted it.

In a heartbeat. AP ceramic is finished second to none. Daytona? Dime a dozen.

For me yes. Like CE and the diver and I do not ‘get’ the Daytona.

That is an easy yes, I think another member polled the same trade not long ago.

Ok so being in hk at the moment, I found a 15707ce fairly easy today and tried it on.
I’ve been wearing smaller watches the last couple of years and have to say I’d need to get used to the size. Therefore I’m not 100% sure if it’s a keeper or not.. problem is if I get it and find it’s not my thing in a few months, I’ll be taking a bath most probably... I had a steel diver twice before and sold both because I found them too too heavy and bulky. The ce being black and less heavy does help a lot. Really on the fence on this one... Here are some pics I took, also compared to my 15300: (the diver was covered in plastic so couldn’t really get a feel of the finishing unfortunately) My wrist is a little over 7 inch |

Ceramic Diver? 3K? Is there even a question?

Daytona plus cash for 15707ce. I’d make that trade and not look back.

Your wrist size is similar to mine and my wife’s Daytona looks stupid on me IMO (and hers). I don’t think you’d lose money on the Diver as the ceramic one especially seems to command strong money.

In a heart beat. The Daytona is overrated and tiny unless you are slim wristed. A carbon Diver, yes please! If I had any of the unobtainium pieces from Rolex, I would capitalize on that sucker as soon as possible and get into a whole other class with AP and PP.

No. Daytona is the classic sport watch in a perfect size. You shipped two Divers already as they were too big, yes the ceramic is lighter, but it still looks BIG on your wrist. I like ROO design and tried hard to love it, but skipped mine as well, because I cannot wear it with a shirt - only a t-shirt = it doesn't work for business, business smart and business casual dress, only casual. Daytona works with all four dress codes.

I would do it in a heartbeat. The CE is seldom made available whereas Daytona is everywhere. And you get to play with different color straps. What else is there to consider?

Funnily, I pondered the EXACT same trade back in June, except my Daytona was a December/16 model, so one of the very last ones. You can find my thread here:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=681692 I did it, and never looked back. Don't get me wrong, the black dialed 116520 is a super chic sports watch and does look very good. The ceramic diver, however, is out of this world. The finishing on the ceramic is something else (coming from someone who owned and loved the Omega DSOTM) and the presence of the watch is on a whole other level. They're two very different animals, and the fact that I own a white 116500 might have made it easier for me to let go of my black 520. That being said, the ce diver is a very special, rare reference which I enjoy immensely. Good luck! |

Absolutely, I think the ceramic being lighter will grow on you. It will not be an everyday watch but you will find uses for it, and enjoy it!
