Do I send to RSC???
I just acquired a 2nd hand 114060, great shape all around. Dated 2017 and after timing it for 2 days it seems to be +3/spd after being on wrist all day and then dial up during sleep. Im glad its running in the positive but I am coming from a Tudor 79230B that had been running < -.03/spd which I expected something close from a modern Rolex model. I take great pride in the precision of in-house automatic movements that are "Officially Certified" and expected a bit more from a "Superlative Chronometer"
I guess my question is as follows: Do I get some more wear out of it and then send it in while getting an appraisal from Rolex at the same time ( I think they still do that) OR Send it in ASAP before I become even more attached and wont be able to part with it??? |

If it were my watch I wouldn't bother to send it in. +3 sec/day is well within COSC standards.

I would leave it. you just got it, enjoy the watch, +/- 3 sec/day is SFA in the scheme of things. have it adjusted when it goes in for a full service.

Superlative Chronometer is a marketing gimmick.
3 seconds is negligible. It’s a mechanical movement with many factors that will affect timekeeping. |

I figured I was being a bit over the top, also thought I should let it “warm-up” as previous seller had it sitting for a while. Running in the positive makes it easier to deal with. Thanks for the input. Cheers!!

There is nothing wrong with your watch. It is keeping excellent time. It’s a mechanical watch and there are many factors that are out of your control that will effect its accuracy from day to day. Just wear and enjoy.

Try laying it crown up or crown down. Dial up tends to speed it up more.

I would rather have +3 spd, than a bunch of scratches / dents from RSC.
