AD's getting allocation numbers from Rolex?

Went into the AD today looking for a BLNR. The SA told me they have no more coming in this year, but they will receive allocation numbers at the beginning of next year. She took down my number and address and said to check in and that she will keep me posted once they have a better idea. Has Rolex recently implemented this policy of notifying their ADs of allocation numbers?

The same song and dance routine. ADs should come up with a better response, “We have no freakin clue.”

I am on the opposite end of the allocation policy, haven already gotten my BLNR on jubilee. Earlier this year my SA told me that they had a meeting with their Rolex representative and to call him the next day. He told me that they were getting 75 watches this year with 35 of them being professional models. Allocated pieces are just that, they are able to choose the colors of some watches, others just arrive. So yes, I believe them, IF they are being honest with you.

Yea I have no reason to believe she was lying. It's a family owned AD that's 30 min outside of a major city so I imagine they are less trafficked. Perhaps the smaller city, family owned ADs are the better route to go. Alternatively, the one larger AD that has multiple locations in various states is the one I actually have a purchase history with and the SA I have been working with has been way less forthcoming.

I think that this is a generic statement.

By now Rolex has made all of their 2019 allocations as they close down during the December holidays.

I’m not sure I believe the typical US dealer is told at the beginning of a calendar year what they’ll get all year, Basel releases aren’t known until March. I do think by this time of year they probably know what to expect until the end of the year. When my latest watch came in Thursday a week ago they told me they would likely get 1 or 2 more deliveries in December but already knew how many pieces it would be total.
