Anyone regret going from one watch to two

May seem like a strange question, but I’m wondering if anyone has felt buyers remorse going from a one watch guy to adding a second?
I’ve owned my TTSub bluesy since 2002 and it’s been my daily for that entire time. I’ve worn it doing everything from diving and sailing to working on engines with no worries about scratches or dings—until now.
Had it sent to the RSC after 17 years of daily wear and while it was out (only 4 weeks!) I planned on wearing my old beater Luminox.
I quickly realized how spoiled I was and immediately started searching for a SS Sub. To make matters worse, the TT came back pristine (had it polished with no regrets, its sentimental so will never be sold), so now I do want to wear it more for non active days.
I casually mentioned to the AD (no previous relationship) that I was interested in a SS Sub and understood the state of the market but would appreciate him considering me for one. He said he would be happy to note my interest. I fully expected for that being the end of it so gave it no further thought.
Well I stopped in today and he said the next one in is mine and it will be here by the end of the month!
So after my initial shock and jubilation it occurred to me that my plan to wear the SS as more of an active daily, my thoughts went to whether I will actually share wrist time or is a one watch person always a one watch person?
Sorry for the long post but just looking for others’ perspective....

No regrets, but it is a slippery slope, for sure. Proceed with caution.

If you’re looking for SS, why get another sub? I would look into a GMT, Explorer, DJ41, etc. Mix it up.

I want them all.
Sadly, recognize I can’t have them all.
So will try to settle for as many as I can.

It wasn't the second one that was an issue. It was around the 15th.

I know how you feel. I love my trusty GMT-II and was wearing it every day without fail. Then I got the itch to have a more dressy watch, so bought a DJ36. Love it, and kept it on my wrist and it became my daily wearer. But then I started to feel guilty about the GMT sitting in my drawer -- my old tried and true friend abandoned! I finally came up with the compromise (justification?) that the DJ will be my daily wearer, and the GMT my "travel watch". So far so good...

I felt the same way about my motorcycles. When I bought the second one, I basically never rode the first one again. It's still sitting in my garage gathering dust, probably won't even start anymore. Guess I'm a one-motorcycle person.

Thanks all. I’ve lurked here for quite a while as I’ve always been fascinated with the history and evolution of these watches.
To answer the question ‘why another Sub’, a couple of reasons. First I’ve always been drawn to the look of the classic Sub. I seriously considered a no date but for me having the date is more practical. Finally, I’m really looking for the ‘tool’ aspect for this purchase and I consider some of the other options a bit closer to my Bluesy. I did consider a BLNR but decided to stick with the one I’ve always been drawn to. I will also probably put it on a RubberB.
I’m pretty surprised that getting one relatively quickly was realistic given what I’ve read and experienced. We have four ADs locally and 2 of them didn’t even want to pretend to put me on a list or take my name...

This sums up perfectly how I feel right now! I’m just worried about that first motorcycle syndrome 😁

I would say to stick with the sub and use it as you always have...maybe add a dress/casual watch as a second then they won’t compete

After 17 years you'll enjoy having a second Rolex. Good move, two Subs aren't too many. One in PM and one in. SS makes it even better.

I went from several to one. And the wife asked what I would do if it needed servicing, so I interpreted that as a green light to get another. When she saw the cost she choked, but that's life in the fast lane. Currently a Smurf and a Patek Aquanaut (aka number 2). And now I'm only looking at others. lol

Well the servicing is exactly what put me in this predicament, so your wife is right 😎

I was a one watch guy many years ago. Wore my piece daily 7 years straight, a PO2500. Knowing and having experienced other watches, I wouldn't go back to be a one watch guy again. My heart is big enough to love and wear more than one watch :-).

yup, still regretting it. 14060m set + speedy reduced + $500 for all black gmt set. I could have paid the $5k in stead of trading the sub away.

Yup, it was going from 1 to 10 in a short space of time after I got TRF-ed that was the real worry.

Not as much as I regretted going from 2 to 3.

But seriously at a large size, starts to feel like a waste of money because of 100% utilization to 0% utilization in some years.

Anyone regret going from one watch to two

I personally went from one Rolex to four in a span of about 11 months. I attempted rotating them, but was “trying” to play favorites...meaning I really liked everything I owned but it caused (extremely mild) anxiety. I’d sometimes change my watch 2 or 3 times in a day, just because I had them and was anal about keeping them all running all the time...there are simply better things to do with your time than covet/play with jewelry ha!

I sold them and went back to owning just one, an Explorer, which for me ticks all the boxes and I’m content with it. I have a G Shock and a Timex if I don’t feel like wearing the Rolex.
