GMT-MASTER II Value

Do the watches become more valuable if they become discontinued? Is it better to hold on to a 2019 GMT-MASTER II Batman or sell it now? Isn't there the chance that Rolex will discontinue them?

If you don't want the watch then sell it now

If we lock, then we're discouraging people from joining forum seeking financial advice! What kind of example you looking to set here lol

If your in it for the quick buck then now is the time to sell a LVC or older BLNR. Your only talking about a few grand either way so I guess if you are in a really bad financial situation and a few grand is significant, sell now. No modern Rolex is going to really be worth that much to be considered a “investment”.

Rolex will not discontinue the GMT II. They may retire/discontinue various models like they did previously with the Black LN, and the previous BLRN on oyster bracelet.

In the future... discontinued models may increase or decrease in value..depending on demand for the particular watch.

Seems unlikely 126710BLNR will be discontinued any time soon, it only came out this year. Then again Rolex has form for short production run models so who knows?

It’s probably best not to make decisions on the basis of stuff that is unknowable.

Agree. Not being disrespectful, bit I cannot fathom purchasing a Rolex and then imediately asking if it was time to sell it. Why did you purchase it?

If you want to flip then holding anything for a long period of time is useless since we don't know the future...do try if possible to enjoy the watch/watches. I would be doubtful if making a few $K will give you the more satisfaction that enjoying a good quality watch on your wrist. They make great conversation pieces as well...try it...

Only Rolex knows if and when it will be discontinued. The real value is in wearing it. Rolex usually go up in price when discontinued but how much is not set in stone. No one knows how much or what the future will bring. Not to be snarky with you but most enthusiasts here share the love of their watches more than any value aspect. It's not all about the money, it's more about enjoying the time with them. Ok now, if you have one wear and enjoy it. BTW; I love my Blnr and will never sell mine.

ADs always say something newer will continue to come out every year, so you never know.
