DJ41 blue dial... Comments at dinner
I love all my watches differently and similarly. They take no order of preference that is steady - one day ill prefer one, and the next day I'll prefer another
I regularly bore people with pictures of watches for comparison sake, asking which they prefer... Mostly I know who indulges me, and who not to trouble. But suffice to say, close friends know how much they mean to me, and that I value their opinions So what I thought was remarkable last night, was that over a dinner party- my dj41 was actually noticed and passed around the table Then, from the company of non wis dinner guests, the vast majority agreed - that the DJ41 was my nicest looking watch!!!! I thought I'd share that notion here. Obviously, from just purely aesthetic appeal and from non wis types - but the comment was quite loaded in the moment, because I know my friends have seen my 15202 and 5712 etc also submariner and Daytona But there you go! Just wanted to share |

Yes I think the bezel, dial, and bracelet are all attention getters! It's a lovely watch.

I can see why non WIS might prefer the DJ, it’s a handsome watch.
What did your watch look like after being passed around the table? |

The DJ41 fluted jubilee blue dial is much better looking than a Sub or GMT or even a Daytona. That being said I will still pick a Daytona, a Hulk only sub or a Blro over a DJ41, just for the fact that I like them, and they are harder to get. Then I would buy a DJ41, because no Rolex collection is complete without a DJ in my opinion.

The blue dial is a winner, I was looking at a Monaco with a similar blue along with a few other watches and my family with me all picked the Monaco dial as their fave.

That’s awesome OP.
Part of what I like about the Daydate, Datejust and OP is that all three of them are JUST watches. I find that appealing for some reason. I mean I like a sub, a Daytona, and gmt as well.... but those are watches with a specific reason of existing, other than telling you the current time/date at your current place. And this comes with consequences/changes. A numbered bezel, subdials, numbered bezel and extra hand... I enjoy the simplicity of DD, DJ and OP, SPECIALLY the OP and their simplicity somehow makes them a little more aesthetically pleasing for me |

The DJ41 is a fabulous watch and in my opinion not very subtle.
But it's funny how sometimes the watches you wear that are generally more respected by wis are not the ones that catch the attention of non-Wis. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk |

I agree
Really liked the idea of the OP... It's like how Rolex watches started off- no fuss, bling, ceramic, bla bla. True watch first type of watch Unfortunately, it didn't quite make me smile, sooooo I got the DJ41. Which does :-) Quote:

Psychologically speaking, blue or teal has huge effect o humans, that's why ptogrpahy and cinema make sure to include that hue in every shot contrasted with orange. The DJ is magnificent watch, the design is next to nothing in in my opinion. Add that mesmerizing sundial blue to it and you should not be surprised it will be voted as a winner.

There are plenty of reasons why the Datejust is such a perennial and enduring best seller.

The Blue goes Black under various lighting conditions, a very subtle dial and an understated watch in this configuration.

I did the same thing yesterday- traded in my OP for a DJ. Granted I went from blue to white, but just a classy piece... especially on jubilee! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
