Dd40???

Do any owners of this watch feel it wears too small?? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 7-1/4" wrist and find it wears perfect! I was originally looking at a DDII but is was off a bit and the DD40 had alot more to offer in upgrades. I also have a 116710LN and at 40mm it wears slightly bigger than the DD40. But the DD40 has a bigger dial if that makes sense.

I love black dials with YG and was not a fan of the motif dial. So I kinda splurged.

7" wrist here, the DD40 fits perfectly. Not sure why anyone would want it bigger. It is a classic watch - some may argue a dress watch - that would honestly look freakish in a 42 or larger size. Anything over 40/41 should be a sports type watch. You can always look at the DD2 at 41 but personally I think the 40 is perfectly proportioned.

Wouldn't say its small, if anything feels larger than my YG Daytona

Very short bracelet .First Rolex I tried on that's too short at max length(DJ41,DJII and all the sporties perfect at max length )Of course the DD36 and DJ36s also too short.

I have tried the DD40 but with a 7.5-7.75 inch wrist it wears smaller than what I prefer. I own two DD II's and could not be more pleased with them. If my wrist was smaller I think the DD40 could be perfect with the right dial.

I just got my everose olive dial DD40 a couple of days ago. I have a big wrist, and it does wear small. I didn't have to take out any links, and it looks pretty puny on my wide wrist. I knew that going into it, and while I would prefer it to be larger (at least a true 40mm as opposed to the 38 something it actually is), I love the watch enough to overlook it.

Wow alot of 7" wrist here. Me too. The watch size depends on what I'm wearing. I can only wear it in the winter casually under a hoodie or long sleeve. It's not my go to dress watch as the 36 fits that role better. In no case can I rock either with short sleeves

I know it's personal but to me the DD40 carries a loud voice and benefits from wearing smaller. Refined.

8", and it's wide and flat which makes watches wear even smaller.

I think the DD40 fits perfectly and definitely not “small on the wrist.” I know the 36 is the classic so I tried it on, but my wife just shook her head “no way.” I have a SD and BLNR. The SD looks smaller than the others, but I think it’s optical illusion.

BTW you should read the Jack Forster article on hodinkee about the DD and DD40. Jack is a GREAT writer and the article is wonderfully written. Favorite line: The DD does not hideth itself under a bushel.

Finally, here’s mine...good luck with your purchase and final decision.

I tried on a DD40. I have a 7.5 inch wrist and daily wear a YG 116618LB. Compared to my Sub it wore a little smaller, but it was acceptable. It is not a "bold" appearance like a gold Sub

For decades the 36 was perfectly acceptable but in the modern era 40 wears small. Go figure.

Thank you for the link, look forward to reading it.
Lovely looking DD.

I have a 6 3/4 inch wrist which is quite flat and though I could wear the 40, I much prefer the 36

I have a smaller wrist and wore a 36mm DD for many years. I really liked the size and feel. But... I just got a 40mm DD and I love the look, feel and size of the 40mm better!

Disagree. Purely contingent on wrist size. A 36mm would look puny on an 8 inch wrist. Even on my 7.5 wrist.

Wow! Beautiful watch! The white Roman really pops! Is the heaviness a big difference between the 116618 and the DD40?
