BTW, don't see much interest in this forum. Wondering why... Too big? Tried on last trip in Tokyo and tried on a friend's piece again few days ago in a gtg.

Too big for me unfortunately. If it was same design but lower profile case, I might think about it. Haven't tried on in person, but it doesn't look like it would sit under my dress shirt cuff.

I like it's bracelet design and movement more so than the case shape itself though.

Think my main issue is the premium on the case. Don’t really see a reason for it to cost 10k+.

I have come very close to buying a Spring Drive - but still haven't done it. Very clever technology and beautifully made. I will get one some day.... but I'm not very good at rotating the watches I already have. Some haven't been worn for a year or so.

Value for money goes to the Lion but the appeal of Godzilla is there for sure.
Both are great watches and since any GS costs only 1/3 of real value compared to the Swiss : winner. So I bought both ...

I love this watch...and the case is very cool. I always felt a chunky watch should be apart of any collection...sometimes I really like a low profile simple watch that’s great quality...but there are times I want a big chunky brash watch on my wrist.

I tried them both on today at Wako. Really wanted to love them - especially the Godzilla - and was ready to buy, but just left cold. All the modern GSs are exquisite, but everything in them seems to be scaled to 1.5x.

Ended up going vintage. All the same details, but just at what I consider the correct scale.

I own both and enjoy the Lion and the Godzilla. I would say that the price has an impact on most, as you can get several beautiful GS's for the price of either one of these watches. The watches are larger but wear well. I believe the Lion is limited to either 500 or 600 units and the Godzilla is limited to 650. I think both are very collectible and will be referenced in the future as watches that came out of the Seiko surge that is pushing GS to the top. Just my thoughts.

Pure perception.

I own a 36mm Rolex and also these 2.
When I am wearing the 36mm for some time and switch to the Lion it looks huge and need a few hours to adjust.
Visa versa the same. The 36 looks like a pimple.
Again, after some time, it takes a little longer, it works again.

Have to say, I have to come to appreciate the GS larger sizes as they are so extremely readable with my aging eyes.
Any Rolex is a struggle.

Is the Godzilla hard to get? I bought a pair of GSs at an AD the other day and the SA told me they had one in the back and offered it to me if I wanted it. She said they’re not putting it in the case (a la Rolex)

Thanks guys for your comments and feedback. Decided to take more time to deliberate. Two things that give me pause. It's kind of like a diving watch but the bezel doesn't rotate which is strange and yes, the price.

It's NOT a dive bezel... it's a minutes track. Useful to some pilots on fixed scheduling.

Tempting on the lion too.
I have a 7.5 inch wrist so size is no issue for me. I actually like big watches more than regular ones.
5 out of my 7 daily rotates are 42mm+ watches. the case and dial combination of the lion just got me in the first glance.

Anyone knows how about the discount that is likely to get on this watch? :)

I tried Godzilla on a couple weeks ago.

It's ok but the price is silly high.

The biggest turn off for me was the weight. I want to feel the weight of the watch on my wrist and I just could not get over how stupidly light this thing was.

I would rather buy the GS SD GMT (with sapphire bezel) and GS SD Diver for a similar price. And these watches have the look and feel of a quality time piece.

BTW the SBGE245 would be a MUCH BETTER alternative to the Godzilla.

I have a few GSs and whilst I have yet to try this one on, it just oozes even more forward thinking from GS, especially in the case design. If you can pull off large pieces then why not

I tried on the Lion and Godzilla at Wako. Liked the Lion, couldn't find much love for the Godzilla. Appreciated the craftsmanship, the value, and most, if not all, of the details (I didn't much care for the truncated hour hand, and how close the hands sat to the dial). Also wish the bezels turned...

Generally lovely watches, just not for me or my 6" wrists.
