I had the 111, 112, 104 and a different power reserve (27C). I have been off the Panerai boat for about 1 1/2 years. The 312 is where it's at for me. 44mm Fiddy case, sandwhich dial and automatic movement. It's supposed to be released soon. Yeah baby!!!

...Adam,

As I said the 312 is my favourite too, but it will probobly be hard to get, and might be a bit pricey for me?

Btw what do you mean by fiddy case?

From what I hear, the 312 is going to be about $6200-6500 USD. You are right, it's probably going to be hard to get as there are waiting lists.

Fiddy case = 1950 case style.

I own the 111 and really enjoy it. That said, I would probably wait for the 312. The 111 isn't going anywhere and there are always quite a few for sale on the other site at a discount. Wait for the 312 see how it looks in the metal and take it from there.

Spotted a good...

...deal on a used PAM 00111, but I am a bit nervous of the hand wound mecanism, how does it work? do you have to wind it everyday?

Otherwise the PAM 00111 seem to be a popular model so maybe I will go for it,one more question, the rubber strap, does it have a option of a folding clasp?

The power reserve is rated at 56 hours, some wind everyday as habit, but not necessary. To wind you simply open the crown guard and wind until resistance is met indicating you are fully wound and ready to go.

The rubber strap that comes with the 111 is for the tang buckle, but they do make an OEM rubber for the deployant buckle. The differences can be seen and explained here towards the bottom of the page.

I had a few manual wind PAMs (111 and 112). Manual wind watches just weren't doing it for me, just lazy I guess. I had a 104 about 1 1/2 years ago.

Wait for your favorite, don't settle for anything else. That is the one I am going to wait for :) Bring on the 312!!!

For Panerai, I like manual than matic.
My future Panerai lists is ALL manual. 190, 249 & 233.

you should have in mind all watches that you want to make a collection.
ex: 1950 case, sandwich, lum, rad, painted, power reserve, in-house, gold...
because this is only the first.

111 or 104

New 3 day autos .... something about the dial that I dont like. The inclusion of the "9" next to the small second dial vs the date, without cyclops.Balance leans towards the left too much ..
Thats from pictures I have seen, true judgement can only be made in the metal. Will have to wait for that day to give a really informed opinion.

The 112 if you want to keep the genuine Panerai spirit and history!!!

The 312 if you absolutely want the second hand and the date...and if you have the budget!

To tell you the truth...I Love my 112 and never got tired of it...cannot say the same thing about my Regatta 2006...(dial too busy).

I Do not like the new dials would stick with 111 or 104. I have only worn my 270 twice due to liking the 233 and 289 much better. The 9 needs a 47 mm case to look right. For ease of use 104 automatic cannot be beat. The 111 with sandwich dial is a classic and favorite. It just depends on automatic vs manual painted dial vs sandwich dial. Most likely it will be the first of many.

Love the 104, automatic and date for me.
