16570 Explorer II bracelet

Hello everyone.

Gentlemen I need Your help. Recently I bought a 16570 Explorer from 2005

The watch is absolutely fantastic however I can’t say the same about the condition of the bracelet.

I found a new one on the gray market and here’s the question.

Mine says it’s a CL 78790 A

The one I could buy is 917 78790 A

Am I right thinking that the “78790 A” is whats important and it will fit?

Thanks for Your help!

Yes, 78790A is the part number for the bracelet.

I'll buy your old bracelet if you decide to sell.

78790 is the bracelet for explorer II. The A stands for solid endlinks which are period correct for your 2005 watch. The CL dates the bracelet in 2004 which is also right on the spot!

Ah wait, your original bracelet is the CL. The one you plan to buy has the code “917”? If authentic, then it can only be random (2012 onwards, and just so happened it contains only numbers and no letters).

Curious what your old bracelet looks like since the watch isn't too old?

Certainly a little rattly feeling compared to 6 digits, but I really like the lighter feel for some variation.....I would love a micro-adjustment though lol

It is from a trusted source. I got these from the seller.

My only issue is will it fit but I guess I’m fine then?

Here it is :)

It’s not the rattle that bothers me but a bit too much stretch between the links. The clasp feels a bit flimsy too. Other than that it looks really good since the watch got serviced only 3 weeks ago...

It is ok. The serial number is 78790A. The rest is the code referred to the period it was made. You'l be fine.

Certainly more stretch than I would expect for a bracelet that age. Thanks for sharing
