Thats worthy of a closer look, and not in a bad way. Ask about the crown.

Edit: That vintage might or might not have the 2 dots or line on the crown.

My only question would be the buckley dial with the wide boy hands and if it is a factory combination. The watch looks ok on its own. Ive never seen a fake president with the Florentine finish

Whats up with the checker pattern brushing? Is that normal on these? Looks like someone went at the case and bracelet with sandpaper

I would still want many more pics if it’s a watch you are serious about picking up. Is it a 4 digit or 5 digit President? That dial is from a 5 digit since it’s flat and not pie pan.

Looks to be Frankenstein to me. like an 1811 Case maybe with the Florentine finish. The wide hands. A flat dial. only wants like 6700.00

Grab it, once confirmed. You won't lose.

Frankens aren't necessarily bad done right and disclosed.

Shady pics and deceiving angles. Cannot see the date font, no straight pic of dial, I have reservations. What is with the texture on the case and bracelet? Send a PM to member crowncollection. He knows Day Dates very well!

If it turns out to be a legit 1811 marked between the lugs, then at $6700 it is an amazing deal and has plenty of room to bring back to its former self.

Not a 1811, but definitely a franken. Dial/hands combo is incorrect (either a wide boy w/ replacement dial, or a buckley dial w/ replacement hands, etc.).
Could be a bastardized 1806 (missing it's original bezel and bracelet), or an 1803 with (aftermarket) florentine/morellis finish.
Seeing as it has a matching president bracelet, I'd guess the latter.

The bracelet is also lacking a few links.Trying to source a couple depending on your wrist size may be a challenge.

That finish is fairly simple to duplicate by a jeweler that knows what he's doing.

Cyclops looks out of whack, maybe aftermarket crystal?
John are you seriously considering purchasing? I would be wary of this piece.

If you're not sure - just give up! I approached DJ 36 from my year three times and finally gave up. But at least I sleep peacefully.

Went ahead with the purchase. See what happens. I am very excited as I have always wanted a President and at this price to me it was a no brainer.
Thanks to all that helped me, hopefully all turns out well.
