Proof that Rolex makes you crazy!
A few days after my dad got his TT sub, he named it. It's name is "el macho"
Now, whenever I talk to him, he tells me what he and "el macho" are doing. "El macho and I are watching TV" or "Me and el macho went to the boat show today." So... does he just really love his watch or is this early senility? |

If it's early senility, make lots of fast movements and sudden loud noises around him. This will speed up the process and you can Shanghai his watch.

Hey, my family means a lot to me, too. There is nothing wrong with loving your folks and them loving you back.
Enough of this sappy crap!!!

Jen: That's really neat!! Nothing to be concerned about. I'd start to worry when he starts to refer to himself in third person, like "El Macho and your Dad went to ...."

I think you obviously picked the perfect gift. Well done.
In fact, YOU gave me an idea. When my dad retires in about 3 years, I have decided to get him a TT Bluesy for a retirement gift. If he names it, I'll know I have succeeded.

That is how I feel about my gift from my wife. I have told her a 100 times thank you or if she apologizes to me for something small I have to tell he no problem you got me a Rolex you can pretty much get away with anything for a few years. You bought your father an awesome gift and he definitely appreciates it. You’re the best. |

It sounds like a sign of attachment to the wonderful watch you gave him. And he's letting you know how much he appreciates and loves the watch!!!

Crazy? Nah. I think he really loves his watch.
But if one day you find him wandering around downtown wearing nothing but a Rolex and a lobster bib, and asking people, "Which way to the Eiffel Tower, pal?", don't look at me. |

You sure he's referring to his watch?!?! Sorry, I just couldn't help myself as us guys have a tendency to name EVERYTHING! I know, I know...I need to be banned. Sorry.
