Rolex hunting in Japan

Hey gang -

I’m off to Japan next week and was wondering if anyone has been recently and had any luck finding anything interesting. If you have any tips or suggestions I would appreciate them!

Go to Jack Road in Nakano Broadway, 3rd floor. This store and the 5 other smaller retailers surrounding it have an unreal selection of watches, new and vintage.

What cities are you going to in Japan?

BIG Moon is a good store in Nagoya.
Had all of the models you would want when I was there last August.

I would recommend this 3 shops :

2 in Nakano Broadway : both are on the 3rd floor.
Jack Road
Kame Kichi

The other one is in Ueno area, Satindoll, they have two shops there.

In addition to what others have said above (especially Kame Kichi a Jack Road), I would also check our houseki hiroba in Shibuya.

Greys are full of dozens of any model you could want, new and at high prices. ADs are empty. Same as the rest of the World.

It would be useful if you indicated what sort of Rolex you are after. Vintage? New reference, 5 digit etc. LOTS of interesting in the stores mentioned. I also like Daikokuya. The Shibuya branch is pretty good. NJTime, TWC lean towards the expensive. Just be careful, you can get scammed here like anywhere else.

Not the market to buy any modern sports Rolex, or any Daytona right now. But if you want a Day Date or something else you may fare out OK.

For Tokyo you’ve got good tips above; there are also several dealers at street level in Shinjuku and in Ginza, not hard to find so just wander around. Mostly Rolex and other desirable brands, the same as the rest of the world but maybe slightly higher pricing depending on your exchange rate.

Wow! Thanks everyone for so much great info! In a perfect world I’d find a stainless sport model from an ad (a boy can dream).

Cities on this trip include: Tokyo, Sapporo, Niseko, Kyoto, Osaka, Hakone and Hiroshima.

I’m looking forward to checking out all the different markets and selections and can post updates if others will be traveling to that part of the world soon.

Take your passport along so you can buy duty free. Also always ask if they have schemes on different card brands - many stores will charge an additional fee depending on which card you use - sometimes they waive the fee during promo periods.

You are in luck, the Rolex bug hasn't hit the country of Japan yet. Bring all your credit cards
