another scam !!! bwm590@googlemail.com

boy - this is getting annoying -

I just won an auction on a watch on ebay - and got this email right away sent to my personal account
the FROM line in email reads "ebay member: lasvegaspowersales"
which is they seller I bought from - but I know how to get the real email account that sent it - so I know it's fake - listed above
I can see how someone would fall for this one.

You are the winning buyer for the << item title >>
Thank you for your business.

Just reply this email as soon as possible for new payment instructions(don't pay until you contact me). We can't use paypal right now, because we change the credit card account number in my paypal account & will be active in 10 days .If you have already sent the money, please cancel your order,in any case contact me for new payment instructions . We will make the transaction through eBay system.

Your purchase:

<< copied from listing >>

Please send me your shipping address & I will contact ebay for a new invoice with new payment instructions.

Again, thank you for your business.

Agree, seller is trying to avoid paypal fees.

So you lose the protection of paypal so he can make a few extra dollars....

Don't mean to ask questions too personal, how much is the item worth?

only a montblanc - but I've wanted it for awhile, and never wanted to pay the $2,200 retail.

it was a scam email - I forwarded it to ebay - and they confirmed.
I paid the seller via paypal last night - and forwarded him this email (all through ebay messages) - the seller is legit and NOT trying anything funny.
his response:

Wow! That is a slick scammer that contacted you. I do have your payment and all is good on my end. It will go out today.

I've got a very similar scam e-mail, though I've never done any business via e-bay. Item number and title seem to point to a valid e-bay auction. Googled for characteristic phrases in the message and found this forum.

I also googled the sender's IP, 216.97.46.1 It is in a database of known scam senders.

One can contact you if they know your ebay user ID - through ebay, no less.
