Incoming Nomos Metro 38

Finally after a five week wait my Nomos Metro has arrived. It’s a very understated watch but elegant in its simplicity at the same time.

Very, very sharp Angelo! Congratulations. Great choice, thinking the no PR and date Metro is the way to go. Wear it in the best of health.

Very cool piece!

I had the black Metro 38 Datum for awhile and wished I would have bought the white dial version like you. Loved the watch but could not for the life of me read the hands once it got even remotely dark. Traded it for a different watch but the fire still burns for another Metro.

Thanks Ralph. As you know, I do love uncluttered dials and this one fits the bill perfectly.
Still contemplating a new Club for yourself?

Just love the accents on this watch too. The blue indices at 3,6,9, and 12, and the red seconds hand. And of course the dial, which is somewhere between white, light gray, and silver.

I’m now looking for strap options for the Metro and it seems to me that the only ones that will work are NATO’s or the OEM’s from Nomos that have the quick release spring bars. Since the spring bars are 17 mm and the lugs would fit a strap that is 19 or 20 mm I don’t see how it’s possible to fit the spring bar into the lugs as the strap would overlap the bar.

That being the case how do you think these would look?

I know the black would look good but what do you think of the grey one?
I love the watch despite the weird lug design.

I put on a Bulang & Sons Nato today and think it looks pretty good.
The quick release spring bars are a joy to remove. The replacement bars are 17mm and the strap is 20mm. So if you’re contemplating buying this watch and want to swap out the Nomos strap, this is the way to go.
I was able to install the new spring bars without any tools, just used my fingernail to get the second end in.
