Bald Eagle Pair

I was lucky enough to find out about a pair of Bald Eagles that are nesting a couple of hours from me so I decided to check them out today. They have 3 eggs and 2 of them hatched yesterday and there is one to go.

The happy couple on the nest.

Dad keeping an eye out for any trouble.

He decides it's time to feed the young ones. He was gone for less than 5 minutes and came back with a fish. Unfortunately, I didn't get a good shot of him bringing back the catch.

Mama feeding the youngsters.

He is keeping all sides covered.

I plan to make it out several times as the youngsters grow and will keep you updated.

Great shots. The only Bald Eagles I have see are at the local zoo. They are magnificent, and so gracious. I would feel honored just to be in their presence.

Nice shots, we have a good many bald eagles around here and I see them often. Even though that it is still awe inspiring each and every time I see one.

Mike,

Those are awesome pictures. I have seen one bald eagle flying by my house, but sadly my blackberry is not as skilled at photography as your camera.

Nice pics.

If it were up to Ben Franklin, this would be our national bird:

Thanks guys. It really was a treat to see these two and I'm looking forward to going back once the youngsters have grown a little.

I'm not that good with distance but if I had to guess I would say approximately 75-100 yards.
