I always thought it was quite small on that reference compared to other watches but that one looks smaller to me, but it might just be the photograph that's playing tricks with me.

My 214270 is exactly the same. One of the early ones with full WG numerals too and short hands.

If the seller was reputable then you are overthinking this. If you have any doubts, best to take to an AD and have them open it up.

Icebergs can be deceiving.

I think you need to have someone look at this. I didn't notice the crown gap straight away, but I always look at the hands. They don't seem right, but I don't know enough about explorer version history to be sure.

Minute hand looks short, the hour hand looks a bit off too, proportions of the lume triangle etc.

Hmmm bottom looks small compared to mine and the printing looks thicker.. Also your bezel looks strange. Mines a G serial bought at AD for comparison

Looks quite small to me, but might be down to manufacturing tolerances? Here's what it looks like on my 14060:

Looking at mine in person the font seems fine. The picture quality/movement/blur seems to be the cause of the thicker look.

My MK2 seems to have slightly bigger hole than that.

I won't necessarily think there is anything wrong with this one when everything else seems to match up. Rolex does change up text, spacing, coronets, etc. (without saying much) and being a more recent Explorer model many would probably not realise it until now.

I'm not an expert, but I would compare examples online that you can find with roughly the same month and year you purchased the watch.

Or let us know and we try to help out.

I'm genuinely curious now. Hahaha

Print looks a little thick, almost like the printing pad was somehow dipped twice. Kerning and alignment of the text looks correct. That's usually where the tells happen.

Compare it to this dial and everything seems to match other than how 'heavy' the print is on yours.

I love it - just happened to look down and notice the crown and my heart skipped a beat. But as far as the watch itself I hope everything works out because I'm in love w the piece.

Also should re mention the seller is an established biz and the transactions was perfect - wasn't sure if maybe worst case they were duped

Just a tip, your images are all blurry which makes the crown hole look smaller. Same is true regarding the serif on the R of Rolex, it looks chopped. Better pictures help the exports more.
Ease your mind and get it checked. Next time never purchase a Rolex without papers. Buy your piece of mind first.
