How hard is it to get a 15202OR?

I very likely know the answer to this, but I value the opinion of people on here that have a lot more knowledge and experience than I do.

Does anybody know how hard a 15202OR is to get from an AD? I know you're not going to walk in and get one, but I would like to know if it's possible to get within a reasonable timeframe (within 12 months or so). Or maybe the more appropriate question is this even worth asking for by somebody with no direct buying history with an AD (but is a proud owner of 2 AP's).

I see several on C24 almost exclusively from NYC dealers and there seems to be a $10k to $15k premium on this one. That's pretty indicative that it is a rare piece, but the premium certainly doesn't approach the same percentage as the ST.

Thanks in advance!

It’s still on their site, but not sure if that’s a definitive answer.

They’re not making the rose gold anymore. Not sure about yellow gold. You’ll need to have prior purchase history with and AD to be considered for one though. Def. not that easy to get.

Is this a hint to wait? My heart is set on a 26574ST but I’m probably going to have to go secondary. I definitely want to add some rose gold so maybe it’s best to wait and see

Officially official?

That's too bad.

I'm quite fond of the 15202BA and the 15202OR.

They weren't super popular from what I can tell.

The only reason I'd question these discontinuations is that they just went through and marked several references on their website as legacy when they raised prices. Is it likely they'd discontinue twice in one year?

AP House in Hong Kong and boutique in Zurich told me 15202OR and 15202BA are discontinued. Only the ST and the BC are still being made.

I also received the info that they are discontinued along with the yellow gold blue dial jumbo. However I have since seen a couple brand new pieces appear. Whether they were already produced and just hadn't been delivered to the AD is unknown.
On the other hand, the AP website has updated and removed all the discontinued 15400s and the yellow gold 15202 from the current watches lineup. the 15202or is still there.
I say try your luck and ask your AD, its a fantastic piece!

I inquired about it at ginza Tokyo boutique In Nov 2019 , they told me that they were willing to put people on the waiting list , but this info is three months old .

Go baller style and get the 15202bc. That’s a gorgeous piece.

How is it discontinued when someone I know just picked one up last week from boutique? Where do you guys get this inaccurate info?

Boutiques could still be receiving the last pieces produced and delivering them to clients. It just means they're not going to make anymore.

I was just relaying what I was told by numerous boutiques around the world. BA and OR are discontinued (ie. no new production). Good for your friend getting one

That is the message I have been given and seen as well. I guess if someone really wants one and is ready to buy (and a VIP) they should still be able to source one from a boutique.

Yeah, I'm getting mixed messages too. :(

Some say yes, but boutique-only (which makes sense). Others say AP stopped production.

My more reliable sources say boutique-only.

Boutique could still getting remaining inventory? Do you know if that watch has a random serial or K or J? I know someone who found a 15202OR late last year at a foreign AD and it has a "J" serial, obviously just an old stock sitting for years.

Correct, any pieces that are still in production or left over will get sent to boutiques, but they have no visibility into production schedules etc. For example, the Manhattan boutique received one of these roughly two months ago if I recall.

I spoke with an AP boutique on the west coast and one on the east coast in late January. Both of them told me the watch was discontinued.

No new production will transpire, existing pieces that are in-production or ones that are completed will be distributed though. So, it is discontinued, but the remaining ones are still trickling out.
