Call a spade a shovel...
Let's face it... buying a Rolex SS - either vintage or new is a minefield right now...
This is BS.. lets call a spade a f'n shovel... And IMO Rolex at the end of the day owns this issue... At the end of the day it's their brand at stake.. On the new side?..."Real fakes" impossible to tell apart, AD's flipping, Greys, hype inflated prices, no transparent ordering, no order tracking, no supply chains of note, years of waiting (if ever).. "favorite AD buyers", that couldn't care less.. and on and on it goes.. On the vintage side? fake parts, service parts, RSC that ruin your patina or swap out parts when all you want is a valuation and authenticity, frausters, false ebay accounts, false adds, dumby accounts, watches that aren't even with the seller, wired funds only, stolen goods without a database etc etc and on and on it goes... All these issues could be improved if Rolex just owned these problems... but they refuse to really do anything about it!!!... a simply fraud squad, or trackable database and digital supply chain would surely help>? Making it way easier again for the genuine girl and guy to get a watch at an AD would be a bloody good start!!!! But this crowd seems so arrogant they just sit in their high paid Swiss offices and do absolutely nothing about these issues? Leaving the consumer completely in the dark... Is this company for real?!! I mean come on!... This is a 2020 consumer friendly millenium guys and girls..not still 1930's gangster NYC...!!! I find the whole entire Rolex SS market just absurd right now...absolutely absurd. And no OK boomer on this site (who had the advantage of years ago just "walking into the AD store whenever they felt like" it and picking up whatever they wanted, to build their fabulous collection), is going to spin it any other way than it's a nonsense. Or excuse this issue away as a non problem or someone elses issue...or to convince me otherwise. It's Rolex. 100% their issue... Fed up... Bye for now!... I've had enough... Take care true believers and enthusiasts ...our day will come! IMO! W |

You think Rolex is bad? Trying buying a new/vintage AP or Patek. Same issues.
Listen, I understand it can be frustrating and challenging, but I actually find that it's part of the fun in this hobby. If you're careful and do your homework (and I mean hundreds of hours, like a lot of us through the years), you can avoid the pitfalls of buying a Rolex, new, used or vintage, or all three. You'll be back. |

What a shock. Wappinghigh starting another b*tch-fest of a thread in his frustrated, outraged, utterly perplexed, and constantly playing the victim tone about Rolex. Sir, if being a Rolex newbie (your admission from an earlier post of yours) is this miserable for you, maybe its time to get a new hobby. You clearly don't enjoy how this one operates, and judging by your inflexible opinions about it, you're never going to adapt.

We should BAN him just in case he is tempted to come back.

Sir, may I respectfully request that you consider Timex or Casio: absolutely no risk of counterfeiting, highly reliable, durable, sporty, spiffy, and 100% sure to satisfy what seems to be your highly refined, and well defined, sense of what you want, and do not want, in a watch. Good luck!

Does the OP know that there are other watches he can buy if he's so unhappy with Rolex? I won't miss these threads.

Sounds like someone can’t afford a Rolex... so many reputable sellers that will gladly get you what you want if you can afford it, how are any of your complaints Rolex’s fault

Am I missing something here? I look at our sales listing everyday and all I see are an endless supply of watches for sale. Maybe not new ones at MSRP but plenty of watches for sale.

Might not relate to the OP. I do wonder how many of the angry people are only upset because they can't buy and flip a watch? I doubt most of them actually want to own a 116500 forever. I think most of the anger is because they can't flip it and make that 'easy money'.
