Am I crazy for thinking about trading my SD43 for this?
In the spirit of diversifying my Rolex heavy collection I walked into my local watch shop and found this. It’s definitely on the smaller side compared to my 41mm 15500 or the SD43 but the old style dial and moonphase are so damn charming.
Any experiences here with that one? ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That is a 25594 (the moonphase owl)
I absolutely love mine and you never see it out on anyone’s wrist. As for the trade, they are polar opposites. The AP is nowhere near as tough... A fair trade as far as $$$ value though. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Know nothing about the watch, but it is a beauty.

Am I crazy for thinking about trading my SD43 for this?
I have two 36mm RO (but not the day date moonphase) and I think the 36mm royal oaks are great. They are much thinner than the modern 37m at ~8mm so wear quite different. Plus there are lots of different complications and dial variations vs 15450.
Value wise it looks like a fair trade, but IMO I think being able to pick up a discontinued 36mm RO below 12k is great value today considering what even the 37mm are reselling for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I will do it everyday !! It is such a beautiful watch.
But indeed that are completely different so just keep that in mind, ideally I would keep both. How much does it want for the AP? Box and papers? |

Freedom of choice, as long as you enjoy it.
I would never make that trade personally, of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I have traded a SD43 a couple of times since they were released and one has always found its way back into the collection. I just don't like the AP you are considering. It looks small on your wrist and might be a fun for a minute until it needs service and you see those numbers. Also, the resale or trade value might not be as strong as you would like as I believe it is a harder watch to move. I am not saying don't trade the SD43 I am just saying not for this watch.

If you are Rolex heavy then sure, but are there other Rolexes in the mix as the SD43 is pretty unique.
