Advantages of YM37 2236 movement with Syloxi sprint

I read that the YM37 has the 2236 movement with the silicon syloxi spring, while the YM40 has the 3235 movement.

Is the 2236 Rolex's only movement with the siloxi spring? What are the advantages/disadvantages over parachrome? (I'm assuming the 3235 has parachrome, right?).

Just curious. Am debating between the YM 37 and 40. The "size debate" has been covered in other threads, but I'm wondering about the comparative internal technology of the two watches... heard a youtube video that stated that the 37 is the technologically more advanced and interesting watch, just wondering what the details were. Thanks!

-Dan

EDIT: the tltle should have read "spring" not "sprint". Hate when I do that!

Well, my YM 37 runs +1.7 sec/day and none of the hints for self regulation seem to affect it. Crown up/down/left/right, dial up/down, the watch runs at +1.7 sec/day.

Are you referring to the YM on OF? If so, then yes I’ve heard the 37 is more advance in terms of movement. However, my reasoning for saving up to get that model is the diameter. I like the smaller one.

Yes. Personally I like the size and the fact that a lot of AD’s seem to have them in the store. Just curious about the technology in the new caliber and why they went to the silicon regulator

Advantages of YM37 2236 movement with Syloxi sprint

The Syloxi hairspring being silicon is probably easier to manufacture. No timekeeping advantage over parachrom as accuracy depends on regulation. Really it’s all just marketing.

Supposedly the silicon hairspring used in Tudor in house movements are Syloxi variant (nothing conclusive) and switched out to standard hairspring (likely nivarox) prior to being shipped to Breitling.

The Syloxi hairspring being silicon is more resistant to positional variance than the Parachrom Bleu hairspring is. It is also amagnetic, while the Parachrom is highly magnetic resistant and the Syloxi is unaffected by temperature changes.
