116520 dial features
Looking at the 16520 reference there a many dial specifics impacting price and collectibility (porcelain dial, inverted 6, Patrizzi, etc.).
For the 116520 it’s not that obvious, also given that it’s a younger model. What are the specifics to look at for this model and what might impact price? APH is one I guess but what else? |

Cream dial is the best....usually early 2000 models with thin hands

You may get some more input on the General forum vs the vintage. Both 5 and 6 digit are great Daytonas imo.

For me, the least desirable of all the Daytonas is the white 116520 (other than two-tones). I would definitely look for the black version of 116520. Just my opinion. |

You'd go crazy with all these minor differences. The ref 116520 basically have 2 different versions. MK 1 was made from 2000 (P series) to around 2004 (mid F), and MK 2. Trying to get an opinion here as to which one is the more desirable will get you more confused as most haven't held one on their hands, let alone owning one. I currently own many of these "modern 4130" Daytona and I can tell you that not just the P serial White modern Daytona turned cream, others as well. I currently own P, F, Z, and a M white that have turned creamy. The "cream" P Daytona was never a thing ... Daytona from 2000-2004 came with MK1 dial and skinny hands. Back then, the one that commanded higher prices were the black dialed Daytona. The most sought after were the MK 1 black or white dial and the fat hands (later F, around 2004-2005). These were transitional, and made in very small quantity . Starting with the D serial, the Daytona came with MK2 and fat hands. I suggest you search the market places on TRF, VRF, TZ, and Watchnet to see how these were priced ... hence, the desirability. |
