Vintage Rolex Model #
Hello,
Can anyone clarify what model # my vintage hand wind Rolex is? It's a 31mm Oysterdate from 1979 and the original paperwork shows it as a model # 6466. My confusion stems from the fact that every other 6466 that I see online has the word "Precision" on the lower part of the dial and mine does not (photo attached). Thanks in advance! |

"Precision" was used on dials in certain markets and was based on slight modifications to the 17 or 18 jewel, 1225 (1210 Base) movement to fit under tariff guides.
Your model number will be between the lugs or stamped inside the case back. The actual movement badging may be blank, Precision, or Super Precision.
