New Daytona and a bit of an odd thing...

Just received my Black SS Daytona from my AD.

Now I thought that everywhere had a price differential between 78490 and 78590 bracelets, ie in the UK it was a few hundred pounds difference, and in the US a few hundred dollars.

Not in Ireland apparently, the EUR price in Ireland for the Daytona last changed in March 2008, and there was no increase in price when Rolex upgraded the clasp.

Did I imagine the difference in the US and UK, or were we running two prices for a while when both clasps were in circulation?

By the way, if anyone in Ireland needs an AD recommendation, PM me, the guy I use is a gem.

In the US we were hearing about the increased price of the Daytona at about the same time that the later clasp was being fitted, so the later clasp models were going for 9600 while the early clasp models were still at 9200,,,,

But that didn't last long, and was not universal... however, the latest price increase is the new MSRP... There is no rational reason to increase the price on a Daytona just because they are using a different clasp; therefore, I think that the entire affair was coincidental..
