Rolex Explorer Appreciation

I am a fan of the Explorer as evidenced by my username and it is my first Rolex and in general my first foray into luxury watches. I was wondering as to people’s thoughts on whether the Rolex Explorer is appreciated by the “mainstream” community or is it more appreciated by watch enthusiasts?

I would say mostly by enthusiasts. From a mainstream perspective, it flies under the radar. That being said, it flies under the radar, because so many watch designs take after the explorer.

Edit: I have one and love it. It’s an amazing choice!

She's almost every day on my wrist and most of the people even don't notice it. I just LOVE it!

My 114270 was my first Rolex and still my favorite.

It has been called out as being fake by those who don't know their ulna from their gluteus maximus.

It’s a pure classic in whatever model you choose to wear. Really enjoy wearing my 214270 Mark I. Have it on as I type this.
