Tudor Pelagos Dilemma
Thinking about picking up a Pelagos. Would love a quality titanium tool watch. Still undecided between blue or black, but my primary question is should I wait until new releases come out? The model is due to be upgraded. That’ said nobody knows whether new releases will trickle out or be delayed another year given all that is happening, and waiting another year isn’t ideal...

If there are new references, when will they be released? Too many variables, IMHO. Buy & enjoy now. Thrilled I snagged the Blue Pelagos before the virus hit the fan. Stuck at home but at least I get to wear this while hunkering down.

Buy Now! I was on the fence about waiting on the last upgrade, to the in house movement. Ended up not waiting and picked up an ETA and haven't regretted anything, it gets the most wrist time by far.
Still waiting for that non existent half link though. Then it would be perfect. |

Sad but true, Scott. But at least I can match the colors.

Agreed. Hard to take advantage of all of the bracelet clasp functionality if your wrist isn't the right size. Half-link would solve that completely.

I have to say that I really dig my Pelagos and wear it more than my DJ. I’ve had Subs many times in the past and have thought about trading the Pelagos towards another Sub and in the end I find that there is nothing the Pelagos can’t do that the Sub can. The combo of the great weight and adjustable bracelet, water resistance, the 70 hr power reserve, lume, rubber strap, etc... for me at least it’s just awesome. I say buy it. You won’t regret it. Now the color - can’t help you there. I got the black but the blue is just incredible too! I’d like to have both. Maybe someday!

In my case, my wrist was right at the point that if I left all the links in, I had the clasp in the 1st position and it was almost too loose, and if I took one link out I was into the spring loaded portion, but not comfortably if that makes sense. Hard to explain, but it is almost like the clasp either needs a 4th adjustment position and then the spring loaded portion, or it needs a half-link. I've seen posts where guys have jammed things into the clasp when its in the spring loaded setting in order to make it a bit roomier. Twice I've had the watch, and both times I let it go for that reason, otherwise its a great watch.

What a watch. Tried it on at an AD once. Too big for me, but that dial.. I don’t know how they do it. The crystal is nearly invisible. A much more functional dive watch than anything in the Rolex lineup IMO.

Buy now and enjoy it! I am biased to the Blue, if Black would go LHD...

Don’t wait if you have access/the money - it’s a great watch, enjoy sooner than later. Current in-house movement is super accurate and has a great power reserve, so I don’t see a potential movement upgrade adding enough to make a huge difference.
Question at the risk of sacrilege: Are there any suitable aftermarket half links available? |

Tudor Pelagos Dilemma
Is it your primary watch, or will you be wearing it in a rotation? If primary, definitely go black or LHD. If it's a secondary watch, definitely go blue. No matter what, you can't go wrong. In my opinion, it's the pinnacle of Tudor. A wonderfully thought out-and executed piece.

Tudor Pelagos Dilemma
Quote:
Yes, I'm one of those guys that jams things in the clasp, cut up cardboard slivers of the back of a pad of Post-It notes actually Just like you said, it needs exactly 1 more adjustment adjustment point on the clasp, or simply a half link. All links in, adjusted as tight as it goes, it slips past my wrist bone. One link removed, and I'm in the spring loaded extension section, which as-is exerts too much force on my wrist. I've thought about sourcing weaker springs or looking in to having a tiny block of titanium tacked into the clasp, but my current solution is living with the cardboard or running it on an MN strap, which I highly recommend. |

Loved my Pelagos - I had the ETA movement when they were first released. The lumed bezel is a joy.
Sold it because despite the weight, the thickness of case was a bit tuna can for me. Nothing compared to the tuna can nature of my PAM’s I hasten to add. This watch finally made me realise that 42mm is right at the upper edge of size for my wrist. If there was to be an update to the Pelagos then 39mm with a slightly slimmer case ‘a la Black Bay 58’ would be amazing. Got to agree with other posters - half-link would nail the strap adjustment perfectly. Awesome watch if the little foibles don’t affect you.

I wear my blue Pelagos in rotation with my 114060. The Sub gets most of my wrist time but reading this thread has made me fetch my Pelagos from the safe, set the time and wear it !! I find the bracelet very comfy. I used the rubber strap on holiday last year but didn’t like it. I found it difficult to thread the excess strap through the loops and it didn’t feel as comfy as the bracelet.

The Pelagos is sure a value proposition. You get a lot for the money.
I fell in love upon first sight at AD in St Marks Sq, Venice. Knew I had to have one and a few months later, I got it from a HK Grey (with substantial discount from list) My goto watch if I want something quality with no worries of being mugged for it.

Can't imagine there'd be any major upgrades - current version already has modern movement and one of the best bracelets in the game. Changes would probably be cosmetic, less text on the dial or a new color (Hulk Pelagos??). If you like the size and looks of the current version, go for it.

I'm really on the edge. I really love the look, especially the LHD, but I wear a BB58 and find it just right, I'm wondering would it look weird on my 15cm wrist? Anyone got experience on smaller wrists?
