Crown on Datejust 116233 not screwing down all the way
I have seen this discussed on other threads but have read conflicting info on how close the crown on the Datejust should be to the case. I just purchased the watch used but it is in mint condition as far as I can tell and had it analyzed by a third party that said it was in perfect shape. I just want to make sure the gal that large is normal. Most of the other datejust models I have seen don’t seem to have as large of a gap.

Depending how the crown tube is in the case the seal is in the winding crown head, so when screwed down it seals the tube end, and not metal to metal so there will be a slight gap.

Score another great post by Padi. My Wife's DJ36 crown also sticks out a bit when screwed in fully and is 100% fine / normal.

Mine is the same. Many pics of these show variations in the distance that the crown sticks out.
