Icon19 Auto insurance rebates

Will you move your business if your insurer didn’t send a rebate? 2/3 less cars on the roads and less driving. Seems like they should. What say you?

Whatever you are drinking tonight must be working because I was thinking the same thing earlier today.

I think it is a nice gesture. And I may well think about moving my business of my insurer does not do this.

Stay safe big man.

I am getting back some money from Liberty Mutual. I haven’t driven in 3 weeks. Helps I live in the city and can walk but do use a car for weekly commute.

I’m shopping around next week. Looking at 25% driveway time for 2020. That should be good for a 15-30pct thank-you imop.

And I’m still beering until sunset.

My car insurance has gone down but my home owners has increased due to the extra wear and tear I'm causing at home.

Toilets are too far, walls make poor windows—all things considered.

Never gave this a thought actually. But I already have a pretty good package deal on home and auto combined. Not likely to rock that boat.

My car insurance company is giving a percentage of credit on the past two months of premiums...a nice gesture for sure.

Lol. Must be a completely different criteria in other parts of the world. Here in Australia my insurance premiums have increased by a whopping 10% year on year for the past 6 years. I'm still driving the same car as I was 6 years ago. I have no driving convictions, not even speeding or parking fines . I drive less miles each year (approx 3000) and I'm still paying $700 pa.

Maybe the bushfires have something to do with it?

We got an email from USAA that our auto/motorcycle insurance would be reduced by 20% "during this time of national crisis." I forget the phrase that the insurance company used, but I put my motorcycle on "parked" or something status because I had deployed. I just checked a few boxes saying that it was parked, entered the odometer mileage and it would be in my locked garage. It reduced the normal fee by not an insignificant amount.

Here in Wisconsin, American Family Insurance is sending a check to each insured for $50 per vehicle covered on their policy.

I am sure most all will. Allstate was the first I heard of it. Then I got an email from Liberty Mutual that they were doing something similar. Have not seen it from others but I am sure the partner that runs that side of our business has. We personally have Hanover and have received no communication from them as of yet.

Insurers are highly regulated, companies. Don’t mistake these “refunds” as goodwill - if left to them they would have booked the profits, they have been ordered to provide refunds by their regulators.

Got my Allstate refund today and I never even signed up for the app that they were pushing (that some said monitored your driving habits.)

I would pay Liberty Mutual a rebate to dump their ad campaign.

No I hate all commercials and try to DVR everything I watch. I think there will be a greater % of time allocated to commercials as networks seek to increase revenue, perhaps feeling they have a captive audience at home.

Yeah, I thought when I first got cable tv over 30 years ago that it would be commercial free as I was paying for it. Boy was I wrong. Even PBS has "mini commercials."

At least they were creative back in the 50's and early 60's.

I got a poultry $14.08 insurance rebate. Probably cost them more than that to process it.

We are getting a 15% credit for April and May. Honestly if I would have thought of this earlier I would have dropped coverage to the state minimum required. We have 3 vehicles and one hasn't moved since the quarantine started. Oh well.

We’re getting a 25% credit for April and May too. I haven’t moved my car since March 20th.
