Beware of Loucri Jewelers

Hi,

Just to give a heads up for this dealer: Loucri Jewelers.

I’m in the market for a Breitling Navitimer from 90s and I’m using Chrono24 & ebay as platforms.

Yesterday there was an ad popped up in C24 for the Navitimer Airborne as pictures below

Turn out this dealer Loucri Jewelers doesn’t have this watch in their possession because the same watch I found on ebay 2 weeks ago and I’v been in contact with the ebay seller previously.

As soon as I saw this, I contacted the original ebay seller to clarify if he has his ad on C24 or if he authorized his watch to be sold in C24. Guess what: the ebay seller doesn’t use C24 and he didn’t authorize the sales there.

Here are his ebay ad pictures:

The reason I post this because I saw that Loucri Jewelers has a lot of high end watches including Rolex Daytona.

I’m thinking that if they don’t have the mid range watch on their possession, I’m afraid they also don’t have in their possession the high end watches.

So anybody try to buy from this dealer, just beware if you have any problem, they will not take responsible for it because the watch has never been in their possession.

I don’t understand how in the world a dealer doesn’t have a watch in their possession but yet they allowed to post it as their own ad on C24.

I have reported this to Chrono24 as well but no reply from yet.

Stay safe everyone.

Cheers...

I've bought two pretty relatively expensive pieces from C24 without issues. But posts like these makes me second guess any future purchases.

I guess one way to help mitigate against shady practices like this is to get the dealer info from C24 and contact them directly. If you really want to be safe, make sure they are a brick & mortar store by punching their address on Google maps and then have them send new photos of the watch with desired time stamp.

In the end, the only true way to avoid getting ripped off is to buy from AD. But who knows when they are going to reopen...

I live near Loucri (55 Northern Blvd, Greenvale, NY).
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
I REPEAT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!
Staff=Very little watch knowledge and have all sorts of disgusting tattoos.
Owner=“he’s in the city”
Inventory=mostly garbage and rappers watches with tons of low grade diamonds drilled in.
EVERYTHING YOU SEE LISTED ONLINE IS NEVER IN STOCK - I look online while I’m at Bar Frites, see a cool watch listed at below market prices, and then go across the street to Loucri to see it and “it’s in the city” or “that’s an old listing” or “we already sold it”.
Lastly, they sell all their watches with this obscure(worthless) “ GAI CERTIFICATE “.
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

I just recently (Monday/ Tuesday) got in touch with them about trading an IWC 3777-01 for a Planet Ocean they have incorrectly listed on C24. I knew I was leaving money on the table, but it's been damn hard to find a black/ orange 2500 PO with black bezel, rather than orange, and proper strap. That was my first big boy watch, wore it to my wedding and within a year had to sell to help cover some medical bills for wifey. At the time it didn't bother me, but 7yrs on I really wish I could find another. Their asking price is more than I paid for mine new from an AD, so I thought surely they'd swap me 1:1. "Not interested." Well, alrighty then.

edit - not that this implies poor dealing. but i got weird feels when "the owner" was mentioned a couple times.

They’re brokers. Even some of my old ads were lifted by web watch brokers.

And some sellers on the Forum do/did this.

It should be disclosed if they are.
