I own 2 Rolex datejust watches, and I never seen this before.
My mother of pearl has slipped sideways for some reason (to the right side).

Anybody know if there's an easy fix for this, or am I gonna have to bring it into the shop??

I think you'll have to take it in, back has to come off, movement has to come out I think. I've never seen that before, very strange.

It shouldn’t be difficult to fix.

Is it a custom/ non Rolex dial ?

One of the pegs on the back of the dial has broken. Most likely it cannot be laser welded back on because it will damage the MOP. Looks like a new dial needs to be installed. Not cheap but the only solution.

That isnt the movement that has moved otherwise the date would still be in the date window. Looks like the pegs for the dial have broken and the dial turned. Very odd that both pegs have broken unless you had a pretty good whack to the watch. Aftermarket dial maybe?

The dial is factory original, the bezel is after-market

Although the dial is MOP, I'm guessing the backing is brass, and the dial feet can probably be welded back on. It wouldn't make sense for the feet to be attached directly to the MOP.

I have a DJ41 steel jubilee and white gold fluted bezel, with MOP and Diamond dial, sure is a stunning dial in the flesh, pictures never do it justice.

A few of these cases have popped up on the forum before.

It has usually been the consensus that a dial foot has broken.

Regardless, you need a professional opinion and advice on the remedy.

Do you think the current dial can be put back on, or will I need a new dial??

I know you probably cant say for sure, but whats your best guess??

There is a cheap fix called 'dial dots' that a watchmaker can use when feet are missing. As looks to be the case. Unorthodox but could save you some time/money.

Unscrew the stem and hack the movement asap. Don't need more trouble/damage with the movement going.

I bet it's an aftermarket dial. Probably didnt have feet to begin with and was taped or pressure fit to the movement. It has obviously slipped.

I would question whether that dial really is original. I may not have seen every single Datejust dial ever made but in my many years of wearing Rolex, I've never seen a Mother of Pearl dial with a full minute track going around the edge of the dial like that. All the mother pearl dials I've seen from Rolex catalogs only have the diamonds going around with no minute track. While I won't say this is 100% an aftermarket dial, I don't believe its 100% factory genuine either.

Unless you bought the watch brand new with that dial all those years ago, then that disproves everything I just said.

But yes, its most likely an issue with the pegs, or maybe the two dial screws that attach the dial to the movement have gotten loose somehow.
