Alertpay, is it a scam?

I put my GMT II up on another website as well as here. A guy e-mailed me and said he wants the watch (without haggling) and said he would pay through alertpay. What do you guys think?

They seem to be legitimate according to this site.

Here is the actual site:

Dear seller,
i saw your item,it is very attractive,i really like it and i will like you to email me a clear picture of it.i will also like to know the present condition of the item and if it still available. Also my method of payment is through alertpay,i will also pay $100 for the shipment. All i need from you is your full name, your address, and cell number,in order for me to make the payment immediately.

Sounds fishy. This sounds similar to the type of questions I was asked for my Submariner. "Is it authentic? Cuz I don't want to buy fake." Why would he ask you the condition of it and then say he'll pay you right away? I could be wrong, but it sounds like he's just trying to bait you into giving out your email address so he can send you to a fake online website. CAVEAT VENDITOR is my new motto.

DONT TOUCH THAT. Alertpay is a scam. Several watches I have sold potential buyers want to use alert pay. One wouldnt stop. I told her 5 times I would only take Paypal and every time she would come back telling me how great alertpay was and pretty much telling, not asking me to set up an account. So I told her to set up a Paypal account and we'd have a deal. Needless to say she "wasnt able to" I finally told her I would have her IP address traced and report her for harassment if she emailed one more time. So, she changes her email address and tries again. Again, dont touch alertpay

That is a scam. You probably used Craigslist right? I have put a few watches on it and every time I start getting e-mails that say, "What is the present condition of your item and is it still available" No matter what you answer, you get a response similar to what you got. It will end up with them wanting you to ship the watch to a friend in Nigeria or something. Total scammers.

The e-mail does sound fishy. I looked at the website for Alertpay (see above link) and it looked valid so it's hard to say. But the e-mail does sound like a scam.

If he is willing to pay you, supposively legitimately w/alertpay....there should be no reason why he could not wire you funds and/or use paypal (your preferred method)...
