4700/1A - Lady Nautilus

Hi everyone

A colleague of mine has a PP 4700/1A-53 (i found this reference number on the service reciept, not sure if its right)

It is mostly sitting around in a drawer, and he is curious whether or not there is a market for these quartz watches from early 80s

The watch was originally bought by his mother, and they have unfortunately not kept any boxes or papers, exept service papers (2019 latest)

Any ballpark figures of what this watch might be worth??

Cheers!

I have a Patek guy that can take a look but the best I'm sure he'll say is not a penny over $500. Send me your colleague's paypal and I'll get the money transferred straight away!

Hahah, just kidding! I think one of the easiest ways to get an idea for the market for this piece is chrono24 where the reference you mentioned runs in the 10-20k USD area, depending on condition and paperwork. There are many variations of this watch, and some might be a lot more collectible/desirable but I'm not informed enough to know which is which.

I think it's an amazing piece and would love to gift something like this to my wife, but it was a hell of an effort just to get her interested in a simple oyster perpetual. Damn Apple Watch!

Hahah, you got me!

Yes i think it is a beautiful piece, and i tried like you mentioned to check out Chrono24, but i found the myriad of references and wildly differing price ranges to be quite difficult.

Since this watch has no box and paper it would probably fall in the lower ranges? Overall condition is quite good though!

Anyways, thanks for the feedback! :)

Go onto eBay and look at "sold" prices, not what people are asking. It looks to be around $7-10K usd. Not too popular when the two tone sells for more than the solid gold model.
