Need help with a purchase 15500 Grey or Black Dial? Advice? Thoughts? Size?
Need help guys and feel free to post your wrist shots actually please post your wrist shots so it can help me.
I have a chance to purchase 15500 in grey or black both for a great price. However given the whole COVID I can’t exactly try them on to see how they would fit. Never owned an AP and never really tried on a 37m 39m Or 41m for that matter. I tend to lIke bigger watches my current collection that I rotate is a Daytona, Daydate and a sub. My wrist size is around 6.5-7 anyone have any advice. Also would be great to see some wrist shots. All advice is heavily appreciated. |

I was able to try the black on before, didn’t sing to me. Was offered today a grey dial by the boutique and jumped on it! Grey is more appealing imho
The sales manager shared with me that grey is produced in much less numbers than the black and new silver/white dial....... take it for what it’s worth! Not that I believe everything sales say! Out of curiosity, are you buying from boutique or TS? and do you mind sharing what discount you got? I tried but was told no discount on this piece! Best of luck!

I’m buying from a TD. Not that much of discount more like a no tax situation. For me it was more about getting the opportunity since I heard there’s usually a wait list on the grey and its becoming nearly impossible for TDs to get them. But could be also due to the fact that I’m purchasing three other watches at the same time - white gold GMT 2, two-tone Datejust 41mm and the Milgauss

I went with Grey. It’s fantastic and very sharp. You don’t see too many grey dials of any brand either
Some think the dial and bracelet are too monochrome but in the flesh that’s not the case at all. At least in my opinion Congrats either way there really isn’t a bad choice |

I'd go with black personally. I think there is more contrast which makes it more appealing.
As far as size goes, I have a 6.3 inch wrists and went with the 15450 37mm. Fits well into my wrist! If you prefer larger watches, you might prefer the 15500. Or you can look for a used 15300 at 39mm. |

I been told that APs tend to look larger on the write.
37mm wear like 39s 39mm wear like 41s Thats what worries me a little. Can anyone share some wrists shots of a 15500 ad your wrist size apologies in advance if it’s too much lol |

I went with the grey 15500st. Wrist size is 6.4-6.5. You should be fine with your wrist size.
I also had to make a decision between the black and grey dial. Decided on the grey because i feel it's a little more unique as Black Dial watches are fairly common. You can also consider the white dial that was recently launched. Sent from my SM-G988B using Tapatalk

Size is not issue, i have 6.5in wrist and i own several 44mm ROO and its perfect.
I would get the gray over black as AP gray is fantastic and the dial just sparkles. Black is not as interesting imho. I am picking up my 15500 silver/white in 2 days from boutique so quite excited myself... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

If you have Rolex sports, then already plenty of black dials. Anything other than black IMO unless it's your one and only. And even then, Gray!

I’d only buy either a blue or grey dial. For reference I have a 7.25” wrist.

But that was indoors under Boutique lighting. They do look really nice in @Fishrus’s pictures near a sunlit window. |

This has been discussed a lot recently in other threads. Because of the open quite big dial the 15500 wears - or looks - bigger than the sizing suggests. My blue dial 15500, for instance, is the same size as my blue dial 26331 chrono, but it appears bigger.

I tend to avoid black dials as they are so common and grey on SS as they can fade into each other, but here I'd go for the grey/ruthenium.

6.5" wrist:
All colors look good to me, it's just a matter of taste. For 15500OR comes with black dial only and look very good with rose gold bracelet. |

the grey might be a bit more rare than black, but the black offers much nicer contrast IMO

Color/size is purely a matter of taste and personal preference. I have 6.5" wrist and I have both 37mm and 41mm, I prefer 41mm over 37mm.
